hi
I need to write a check.
what is the current cost to request the Chrysler historical society to research build information on my car?
I believe this is the correct address to send check to, along with copy of title and the vin # on the door. thank you
sincerely

Jerry: Good news, bad news. Good news. What you could get will be free. Good news is all you need to do is email them copies of your title with the VIN.

Bad news is you won't get anything more than a photocopy of your cars IBM card without any comments on the email reply.

Further bad news is the last I heard they are shut down due to Covid and you can't get anything from them until they open again. If they ever open.

Good luck.

As recent as January 15th, 2021, I posted this:

"I am "helping" somebody else with their car, a 56 Dodge, and I encouraged him to contact Danielle Szostak-Viers at FCA Historical to get a copy of his car's IBM card. He did that yesterday and got this response today:

"Hello *****,

Thank you for contacting the FCA Historical Archives. Depending on the year, make and model of your vehicle, we do provide a build record service. We do have build records from 1930-1967 for Chrysler, Dodge, Plymouth, Imperial and DeSoto vehicles and 1930-1954 Dodge Trucks. We do not have build records after the year listed or for Jeep or AMC vehicles.

At this time, we are unable to do the research needed to answer your request, due to corporate guidelines, and have limited physical access to the archival records. We are able to answer requests where we can remotely access the materials.

While we cannot provide a time frame as to when we will be able to assist you, I would expect that it will be towards the end of May, but there is no target date at this time.

Thank you for your understanding on this matter. We look forward to being able to help our customers in the future.
