Hi: Ebay doesn't link up to what I clicked. Are you losing money for the club when that happens? Thanks!

Marc: It might be your browser. I just clicked on all 7 of the eBay links that showed up on my FL home page. 7 for 7 going to where they were supposed to go.

Hi ,

I have the same problem. It just opens up general ebay page without any preset search options.

All my browsers used to verify... EDGE, CHROME, FIREFOX

Fix ePay?........lets start with reconfiguring the so-called 'shipping charges'......then we can appeal to their head chimp who seems to think that 'anything will fit anything'.....I know there's a lot offered on this site, but dealing with a six buck item and being quoted fifteen to ship it is silly.....as for the big sell of 'it fits everything... absolute insult .......give the chimp a banana.....

No-one can fix E-pain, totally full of unrelated crap comes up on a specific search, the global shipping has ridiculous high shipping costs. The staff is totally unwilling to sort up the mess, I've reported a lot of item that did not fit the search.

Then some sellers puts in "fits" for to broaden the field of sales, but I doubt that it works out for them.

Below, one sad example;

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Oil-Drain-Plug-Gasket-For-1959-1960-Chrysle...

Question, who would buy an item for $18.40 when the price is 50 cent??????????????

https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/chrysler,1960,new+yorker,6.7l+41...

An easy search is "Chrysler 1960". This results in that otems must contain Chrysler and 1960 for to show up. Well, then some sellers tags there items with "fits" and then we get all the crap

A better search that some one here taught me is putting parentheses around the target as in (1960 Chrysler). That eliminates the "fits".

I do that daily with (1956 Dodge) and just scored a NORS 4280 V8 fuel pump for US$35 on a buy it now.

Yes Dave, lesser crap but still I get Chevy and other brad items as well.

To know, Epain has worked for to remove searches with using joker cards. It means that sometimes joker searches doen't work.
Pratically Epain want to force us seeing all the crap.

Try this search that worked some years ago (Chrysler 1960, 60, '60) that covered if a seller listed an item as Chrysler 60 instead of Chrysler 1960 for example.

Then try this that also worked some years ago "Chrysler 1960, 60, '60"

Also this used to work ("Chrysler")+("1960")+("60")+("'60")

Another option is to glean the auction number from the link and enter it into e-bay's basic search box.

Another way to eliminate all the eBay items that show up as "fits" is add -fits to your search. I think there is some check box under the advanced search options to leave out items with "fits" tags, but its easier just to add "-fits" to the search.

I'll often search for "(1957, 57, 1958, 58) (Plymouth, Dodge, Chrysler, DeSoto, Mopar) somepart -fits"

Thing about Epain is mostly the sellers and the way they title. They know what people are looking for so they use general terms that will load n show. I know that setting filters a lot times will show "no results found". But then again I am usually searching for something I know is like finding a golden unicorn.

Try adding the OEM part number will help

For instance: NOS MoPar 2096938 60 Ply back up lamp sockets

The outrageous shipping costs are levied for any country outside the U.S. Have been nailed (almost) US $30.00 to ship an American brochure (8 pages, 8½x11) from Ohio to BC. Although that is not as bad as as shipping an Australian Holden brochure from Austalia to Canada. - Two Hundred Australian Dollars.

Would like to know the source of the charges (E-Bay, USPS,??? )

I used to get my purchases the U.S. shipped to Point Roberts, just south of Vancouver. Of course, with COVID-19 that's as far as they go as I cannot cross the border, and return.

Since E-bay sellers must now charge sales tax, I've noticed that some sellers are now showing a ridiculously low BIN price with equally ridiculously high shipping charges. Since tax is only charged on the sale price, it's a way to save the buyer money on the tax.

I think E-bay gets a cut of the shipping fees as well.
Plus they do all the legwork on charging, collecting and paying the states the sales tax at whatever rate each state charges.
That alone has got to be a REAL PITA for all concerned.
I'm just glad that end of it don't concern me!
And NOW, with Bite-Me in comtrol of the WH, and wanting to spy on your banking business, PayPal, Craigslist and what all, all bets are off!!

When Virginia got blue, the state started collection taxes in every online purchase.

Indochina or Ohio it doesn't matter. 7% added is a lot of money over a year.

On ebay the fees on shipping, was the reason in a change of policy, due to people selling a $500 product for $0.001 and then collection 499.999 in shipping.... So it was zero fees for ebay on the sale...

I'm not selling nothing on ebay anymore, not sure how other people keep doing it after all these fees.

They have simplified it a lot as long as you keep a balance in your PayPal account they just deduct shipping from that.]
And you have to provide them with the info on your/a checking account so they deposit your net into that after they withhold their fees.
No matter how you look at it, you are only going to realize about 30% of your gross after S&H and E-bay fees plus shipping if you are selling w/free shipping.
If you do not have a pay pal account they deduct the shipping from your gross as well and your net will then reflect that.
I set up a separate checking account and only keep the minimum req'd balance in it
Your mileage may vary

That's what I do to eliminate garbage items. -fits works well and will add -for also. My search for 61 Plymouth fury is

1961 61 Plymouth -fit -for -valiant

What's up with eBay taxes?  It used to be no tax at all.  Then it was a little.  Now, it's bend over and let the government have its way.

or whoever is collecting that!

my understanding is everything one gets off the sales now is considered 100% income unless one can show proof of what one has in it. part of the einsteins running the whole thing now. got to remember someone has to pay the free ride of whats happened

I run a spreadsheet every year and deduct all the expenses which last year amounted tom35.74% of the gross not counting internet
which in my case just about wiped out the remaining net.
