Location: Parts Unknown | d500neil - 2010-10-28 3:29 PM I wonder how/why/when the Historical Society got to be so persnickety regarding the giving out of IBM cards. Wasn't always a hassle--and, $15.00/car, too. ***************************************** I have a storage crate chock full of photographs, data and VIN tags, titles and registrations, and CHS follow up stuff from my wrecking yard days. Back in the late 80's I began to decipher all the coding as it compared to the cars. Guys like you have taken the idea and pretty much finished the job. Yeah, I know what you mean about getting several copies in order to read the whole thing. That is what the 3-4 attempts were about on my DeSoto card. But they were getting grumpy with me repeatedly bugging them and when asked to cross reference the selling dealer, they said they didn't have any more time for me. Fast forward 15 years and the print outs cost $45 and if you do not have a valid passport, current CAC clearance, green KAF badge, and are not facing eastward when the sun goes down, then you will not get a print out at all ! I have bigger fish to fry right now. CHS can wait.

Exner Expert 19,174 posts. Neil passed away 18 Sep 2015. You will be missed, Neil! Posts: 19146 Location: bishop, ca | ..Don't you get weekends OFF, over there? Get yer ass back home; doesn't anyone ever commute to 'work'? I just found a H.S. receipt, from 1/26/98, for the purchase of TWELVE 1956-1960 D500/D501 IBM card-copies, at a cost of $435.00 ($36.25 each). The 56'ers were X-Kiekaeffer Dodges, confirmed from copies of his Corporate ownership records on them. I'd bought other 'cards', but that was my largest single purchase of them. Now, you gotta jump thru hoops just to get your own car's record. Edited by d500neil 2010-11-12 7:23 PM

Location: Parts Unknown | Neil, We work 12-16 hours a day (sometimes longer), seven days a week. In the 12 month deployment we have an available 45 days of R&R (30 paid, 15 unpaid) with a minimum required 10 days spent outside the theatre. I must remain out of country for 330 days of 365 to maintain my tax-free earnings status per IRS code. So, no, I won't be getting around to it any time soon. If I advance in my position, I may re-enlist and do a couple more years. That will put it out there even further. We'll see.

Yes 538 should be blue-based "flying ducks": Royal Lancer Hardtop Trims: 536 = Red 537 = Green 538 = Blue 539 = Silvery Black Here is a non-Golden 56 Royal Lancer with the 538 blue interior: Here is another 56 Golden Royal Lancer but with the 539 interior: REFERENCE: http://www.forwardlook.net/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=65230&... Expert Posts: 1889 | . Paint 077 and Trim 538 – Golden and Blue? Hmmm… a weird color / trim combo… Dave, it seems we’re decided that trim 538 is a white and red flying ducks as below; or did not and? Although golden and red is weird combo too… (56 Dodge Royal Trim Codes.jpg) Attachments ---------------- 56 Dodge Royal Trim Codes.jpg (80KB - 128 downloads)

Expert Posts: 1889 | . Hello dreaser, I've intersted on your tag: is it D500? The code 367 on it might to confirm my guessing... The code 591 means the Delivery Route, but no idea what the route is... Hard to read: Does the "2" or "3" stand below 29? (1.jpg) Attachments ---------------- 1.jpg (79KB - 117 downloads)
