Expert 5K+ Posts: 8443 Location: Perth Australia | My plymouth came factory with the 6 way electric seat. It was taken and used on another car by a previous owner. Whats my chances of replacing it? I would need pretty much everything except the actual seat Cheers

Regular Posts: 57 Location: Springfield, MO | My guess is good at replacing it. Affordable is another question based on your location. There are a couple on ebay atm. I have a 1959 swivel power seat and there is the base of one for a 61 for sale. I compared it to mine and it is identical in looks. They look to be swappable and would make since for them to be to keep production cost low. Just take a seat from the production pile and slap it on either a power or manual base. I know that my swivel seat has two mount holes on the front to attach to the base, but only the rearward hole is used for by power base. I am guessing a manual seat might use the frontward hole. I have seen some of pictures of the mid 60s assemblies and the clutch/motor assembly looks almost identical, but if they fit the previous era seats is unknown to me Here is the title to the 61 listing and comes with the switch too "FRONT BENCH POWER SEAT TRACKS & SWITCH COMPLETE WORKING ASSM 61CY1-3W7" IDK if he can ship to Australia though... Ebay says the rate is in the 1400 range... If you can find any 6-way base in Australia from the 62 and back you are probably good, but you might be able to do it from a mid-60s power bench seat and might have to do some fabwork.

Location: Wilmot, SD | I have a 60 Plymouth wagon, and got a power seat out of my parts car, the seat itself is different. I tried to keep my original seat and put it on the power track, and it wouldn't work. The power seat track is taller and the underside of the seat compensates for that. Expert 5K+ Posts: 8443 Location: Perth Australia | Thanks Sven I am not up to the seats and trimming yet (still doing the right hand drive conversion) but this all gives me hope that I can get it all to work again
