Ok everyone, based on a question from an earlier thread, does anyone know how many 61 Plymouth Suburban Station wagons were produced? Were any built with the Sonoramic Commando engine?

Answer #1. 32,149 units

Answer #2. There were examples with the SonoRamic, very few no doubt. I saw one years ago, but there is no way of knowing how many were built.

In my 22 years of being a FL guy, I have only seen 3 61 Plymouth wagons, not including junkyards. But one was a 2 door wagon! I'll bet that is rare!

I came across a white two door with a slant six back in 2001. It was in Fresno, very clean and original-- $2500. At the time, I couldn't take on another set of wheels. I am still trying to get over that missed opportunity!

ANYTHING would be preferable to owning a Scion in my view. Stylin' in a classy car like a 1961 Plymouth Station Wagon though would be the cherry on top of the German chocolate cake. Sweet!

A 2dr '61 Plymouth wagon? Never seen one. Must be extraordinarily rare.

The only '60 2dr wagon I was able to find was on allpar.com. Here are is the only image I've ever seen of one (I thought they halted 2dr wagon production after 1959 but apparently I was wrong). It looks like they made about 5500 of them for 1960, I'm not sure how many 2dr '61 wagons were produced.

An employee had a really sweet '61 four door wagon when I started working at the hospital during 1985. 318/ Torqueflite. It was that beige or tan color so many '61 Plymouths and Dodges seemed to be.

The lady kept it spotless and she still had it when she retired. I should have maintained contact with her. Her husband bought it new for her.
