Got the details on this pic...

It is a 1.5-litre Cooper Monaco which Richard Macon bought from Luigi Chinetti (New York Ferrari dealer, Le Mans winner, restauranter etc), the location is Austin TX.

The race is the 'Carrera de la Capital' which was held in August 1963. The photo is from the late Richard Macon's personal collection, probably taken by a professional photographer at the event.

That's a very interesting model car set of instructions and decal sheet. I have never seen that before, and believe you me, I was very into bulding model cars back in 1960-61 as I was only 9 or 10 years old then. (I preferred the 1/25 scale model cars that were made out of plastic) I've never heard of the SMT company either, although I have heard of the AMT company. The SMT logo resembles the genuine logo that AMT used too. Any more information on this?

no, unfortunately not. saved the pic from an ebay auction some time ago, because i found it unusual.
