I have posted below pic sometimes showing that same '58 Chrysler Windsor Dartline with boat trailer.. the hubcaps were just customized. Now you can see the non-existing skirts.

I like how they used to make a big deal about the new cars arriving. '65 Sport Fury Indy Pace Car leading all the new '65 Valiants and Barracudas. Too bad the car haulers are Chevys.

My home town McDonald's in Normal, IL 1959. Illinois State University is just a few blocks north of this location which still has a McD's there.

What a neat picture. I remember those 15 cent burger days but I didn't realize "Ronald McDonald" wasn't on the scene yet. I wonder what the figure used back then was and when Ronald the clown came into the scheme of things. The Golden Arches are there though.

That Jaguar looks like a suppository. Who would have bought such a bulbous
blob when sharp, angular cars were so "it" ??? Their styling was 15 years behind
the times. Looks like a 46 Ford !

The other Jag on this page was posted by 1960Fury about halfway up the page.......it's a view of a Mk IV supposedly being driven by Kim Novak .........the pic is a still taken through the windshield of a 1956 DeSoto supposedly being driven by Jimmy Stewart......the movie was Vertigo.

Both the Jags on this page were William Lyons designs and were very classic British examples.......not my thing but interesting nonetheless.

Who would own a Nissan Cube or one of those dopey Scion boxes today when all the other cars are so bulbous?????

Judging by the looks of today's crap maybe they were 40 years ahead of the times?????

i swear that looks like ward cleaver in that 59 fury!

they could have used a lesser model in the show..

like a belvedere .. 57-63. 1957 they used a ford.. 58

and up plymouths.

and that shot of mcds is super cool! didnt put any s&%t

in the meat in those days!

and when that shot of ricky was taken "waitin in school"

was on the charts. prob. taken in the nelson driveway!

Here's the same location on Main St, Normal, IL. The Standard Oil station is long gone and the land from it is now McDonalds parking and street expansion. I can remember going there when we were kids and my mom only letting us order hamburgers because the cheeseburgers were 5 cents more.
