That doll is scary size. Not sure I want to see it's frontside.

The girl's skirt in Sid's photo is pretty short for the early '50's. I would expect that more from the '60's.

unlike popular believe mini skirts and short shorts are not a mid/late 60s "invention". if you watch old footage from the 50s or even 40s you can see plenty of them.

I was thinking the same....but its a 57 so it would of been on the other side...i doubt they would of moved it, to place the Texan Badge on there...and it also looks like it has a set of beat up/bent exhaust deflectors?

Great picture of that Texas Dodge, which also has questionable doors alignment with the rockers showing typical manufacturer standards of the time. Wonder if the paint is sun faded or is just the picture.

The paint looks to be the Tropical Coral...the only other Red tinted color was Flame Red....I own a Flame Red 57 D500....its very dark when you see it in person

I think that chick is wearing Bermuda shorts, especially with the long socks and tennies. From the shadows of the trees (no leaves, but none on the ground), it looks like an early spring day. Those were my salad days and I remember them quite well. But I'm not the guy in the pic -- he's being far "cooler" than I used to be.

I'm not Sid but my guess is that is a 95% percentile ergonomics test dummy that would have been used in the design process (not in the final product as shown).

...and here I am, obsessing about every fitment appearance detail on my 58 year old restored car, while this brand new vehicle, used in a factory ad photo shoot to boot, has poor hood to fender gaps, misaligned fender to door side trim, and rock chipped valance installed too low (or bumper too high)!

Too funny, David!!

I recall reading an article submitted by a former Ford employee how he was required to hang two doors per minute on the new
Falcons coming down the line. Now it took him a day to hang one door on his restoration Falcon!!

I am not judging the car on the picture, nor the build quality, and I am not saying it is bad at all.. I am judging myself for obsessing with details even more than the factory.

Notice the Red and White 57 Dodge 2 dr HT in the Promo photo has the early stainless stamped molding connectors on the front fenders, not the later cast type...my 57 D500 in the same colors has these early molding clips

My immediate thought when I saw it this morning was the 1964 Alaska earthquake:

Considering the model year of the car and the style of dress, my guess it would be the 1959 Yellowstone earthquake.

Yup. You are 100% correct. I googled " 1959 Yellowstone earthquake" and got these images (one of them was the 56 Chrysler) (Aug. 17, 1959)

WOW ! ... a 1960 Buick wagon ! You don't see those showing
up in old pix very often. Even less today. I think I can count the
number I have seen in my lifetime on one hand, and still have
fingers open to count more.
