That lead me to search Willard Karl WILLARD KARL MOTORS of PASADENA, 316 WEST COLORADO Blvd., PASADENA, Calif. Which lead to this: "Mrs. America poses with a 1950s-era automobile at 2903 East Orange Grove Boulevard. According to the 1955 Pasadena City Directory, the owners of that residence were Robert E. and Zoe Sahm. We believe the woman in the photo may be the 1949 Mrs. America winner, Frances L. Cloyd, of San Diego. The image was taken on March 30, 1955, for Karl Willard Motors Inc., which was located at 316 West Colorado Boulevard. The Cadillac in the background (near the front of the Plymouth) also has some tire "issues" and its just parked. Therefore I suspect there is more of a photo pixelation issue.

Expert Posts: 1819 Location: Vancouver, BC | I would say snow tires. The "lumps" are evenly spaced if you look very closely at the rear tire. You can even see the tread on the the tire facing forward. Grew up on the Canadian prairies where snow tires were considered mandatory in the winter. They used sand on the roads but no salt as salt won't work below -20C.

Yeah. I know it's there. That's where I got the picture to repost. I was pointing out the fact that it was taken in my hometown of Milwaukee and the subject was one of the players of my Milwaukee Braves team.

Expert 5K+ Posts: 9855 Location: Lower Mainland BC | I wish I could see the license plates on the cars in this photo (posted above). I knew it was in Canada because of the 55 (or 56) Dodge Mayfair 2dr V8 hardtop (looks similar to my high school 55 Dodge 4dr). But then on second glance, I see Zeller's (Canadian low end department store) as well as Tamblyn Drugs (likely only Canada), Agnew Surpass (shoes - pretty sure Canadian), FW Woolworth's (but that was Canada and the US) and the first letters of Reitman's (a women's clothing store - definitely Canadian). It immediately reminded me of the first "Golden Mile" mall in Regina, Saskatchewan back in the day, but Bill might say it reminds him of Polo Park Mall in Winnipeg Manitoba too. Likely somewhere in Ontario now that I look at all the numbers on the plates. Edited by 56D500boy 2017-09-24 9:35 AM

Not sure. Canada had subtly different models of Ford in that period. We also had Mercury Meteors that were Ford-based. Very similar to the way we got Dodges that were really Plymouths except for the Dodge front clip. Edited by 56D500boy 2017-09-24 11:24 AM
