Different era highlighted by the obvious.....busy street and shopping centre, bustling with life. The gals getting ready to drive off in a '58 Plymouth convertible from a well manicured and cared for trailer park.....I love this thread and photos....reminds me of my youth when we trusted the world... before all the so-called positive changes that brought us to where we are now.

From what I can read on the sign on top of the 57 Plymouth Wagon, it states:

"Instead of giving away blue stamps for his cars, He should give away rubber boots.
This car is not 3 months old and it leaks like an old rowboat and now the paint is
coming off from rust pits.
So look this one over real good before you buy one."

Hope the dealer took notice and got the car fixed up!!!!

Yeah, Dad was a DeSoto-Plymouth dealer back then and he sold lots of these. Sad but true, many of these customers never came back to buy another mainly because of rust and poor quality workmanship that plagued them. The '57s did look good and that's what sold them when new but.................................

You might be right, Ray. It apparently had the hubcaps stolen too, since that is a cheap aftermarket one on the front.

Great photo!

I thought only canadians liked to add the '59 style fake spare on the trunks of '57s and '58s, but here's one example in the US (US hubcaps instead of Canadian ones make me think it's south of the border - Canadian border that is.).

Looks like the car in the background above the roof of the 59 Plymouth is a 57/58 Desoto/Chrysler convertible?

That's a corvette grille.

58sportsuburban is correct. That's a Corvette grill, not a Desoto unit. The Corvette grill teeth are thinner in width, so more teeth fit in the grill itself. Since the '54 Chevy grill opening is wider than the Vette, they could add more teeth to the stock Corvette grill.

A real shame it's not smaller...

There are so many pics get posted here which are too wide for my screen, so when you try to read a post you have to continually scroll across and back because the pic takes the screen width out so far.

You need Irfanview, a free download, you can do anything with that in seconds to reduce pics, give them contrast, more or less light, crop in on things, so easy!

Agree. I've been using it IIrfanview) for years and probably daily for this forum (and attaching photos to emails).

One of my favorites is using Shift Print Screen to capture what I am seeing on the screen. Then opening Irfanview, going to Edit and then hitting Paste. Then cropping (with a left click and drag expandable box) then Crop Selection. Then Image and Resize/Resample (in the order of 1024 x 768 works here to get you under 250 kB). Then saving somewhere where you can find it again. Then posting with [_] Attach a File After posting, Browse and submit. (takes longer to type all this out than to actually do it).

Old habits die hard. He probably had the same guard on his '42 Dodge and really missed it.
