That's Market Square in KC. Still looks the same (or very similar at least) today for the most part. We had an AACA meet there and were able to park under the roof of the open structures - there are four of them - which made it much more comfortable in the heat and would keep us dry if raining.

Boy ! Do I remember that stretch of road from when I was a kid !
I still love the drive south from Medford. A lot of the old road can
still be driven, if you know where to get off the interstate. Beautiful
country ! Thanks, Dave. You made my day with that one ! ??

Are these two photos related by chance? Looks like the same Plymouth convertible and in a similar (if not the same) trailer court.

Based on a quick view of the two photos together, I think there are at least two trailers that are the same and in the same position in both photos = they are related. Probably near a military base (not in Wisconsin?).

Yes, the same trailer court and the same Plymouth.

But why a military base?

What, a little Nash Rambler? Judging by the length of the roof it's a station wagon. It is a 1950 to 1952 model. They made few changes over the three year period.

Noted for getting stuck in second gear.

Agree but there is also a fast back sedan version, maybe a 1950 Nash Statesman, above the 55 Plymouth to the right of the 56 Chevy.

Ah yes the old Nash that brings back some memories for me I spent some time removing the chrome Statesman from the neighbours car before they sold it for scrap I used the name plate for a logo on my home made guitar amp during the time when that industry was in search of unique sounding amplifiers, the name stumped most of the so called professionals.

It also looks like he's on the case...

I gather that photo is from Michigan City, would that be right?

Here's one I just stumbled across, forget the Plymouth, how about that flat 12 Franklin engine?

Michigan City is but one of many locations in the US that have "street running" trains. I was shocked.

Nice Plymouth. I had to look up what a Franklin Flat 12 was. 13.2 Liter, 450 hp, Aircooled. Yikes. Now that is an aircraft engine.

Here's the engine of a Franklin car... This one is a six, but it has similar features. Surprisingly large for just under four litres (about 239 cubic inches), they also made a V12 for their automotive range.

Isn't that the truth! And it seems those VW buses had more severe rust problems than our beloved FLs.
