Just read up on the switch from left-hand to right-hand traffic in Sweden, the right-hand "general" Lars Skiöld used this Chrysler limosine as his functional service car.
I'm puzzled by this car - it seems to have the Windsor short front fenders, but it as the sill moldings, wheel well moldings and chevrons from a New Yorker.

Not sure why they have the mixed chassis but I like the fact that they reworked the doors to make the fin line look proper. The airport limos I've seen they just put a level fin section between the front door and the back. This one they reshaped the front doors and start the fin on the back door.

This one is an airporter, and has the fin going right up into the front door as well but this is on the long wheelbase (Saratoga).
Just look at the size of those tires, on 15 inch wheels. They're huge.

You can see how the fin line levels off in the middle doors. Easier to do than that formal limo.

That is a good one...

Where is it? It reminds me of a dealer I saw in Kentucky, they had a Viper right up high out the front:

It's a 57 Desoto Firesweep. It's less than four miles from where I am. If you'd like a different picture, I drive past it every day.

The eBay ad indicates this photo was taken in Texas, but the license plate isn't from Texas, and there are dozens of motels around the country named 'Shamrock Motel and Restaurant'.

So I have no information about this at all, but I thought the composition with the nearly-rolled '58 New Yorker coupe was interesting enough to share.

That photo was taken on boulevard Laurier, looking east, in Quebec City, Canada, almost in front of the Veteran's hospital now known aas the Laval University Hospital.

Here's the same view now. Almost nothing is recognizeable, but I assure you, that's the exact same spot. If you really have a good eye, the main hospital building is still there and you can make out its shape, somewhat.

Far as I recall, just that Anglia had no particular name Ray, the earlier ones was called "hot-dog stands" and the later with the slanted rear window was called "free saturdays" as if the workers quit without finishing the car

That’s one of the coolest looking forward look neons dealership signs I’ve ever seen. I wish I could see it lit up at night. I wonder if it still exists. I guess I could google it but I am afraid I wouldn’t like the answer.

Say, that '57 'sweep on a stick was no easy feat! To get that pole thru the roof and to remain for some 50 years. Appears to have little rust and no drive train though.
Wonder how they managed to make the chassis look "loaded".

It looks like there's a trailer axle type of setup on the front, though probably with flanges welded at the ends of the tube rather than hubs, it's attached across the frame, no wishbones, no torsion bars.

On the back I think I see some restraining bars coming down to the shock absorber mount area.

What's the story on the bizarre car in the foreground? It looks like it started life as a standard 1970 Ford Thunderbird but someone was making a Batman crime fighter car or something?

What's the story on the bizarre car in the foreground?

===============

Two words: "Abortion"

After 69, the T-bird was just a barge anyway.

A couple of folks from the "Jack Pack" with FL cars. Marilyn Monroe in 1957 and Peter Lawford in 1958.

I got this from a YouTube clip someone sent me...

It's at Santa Pod dragway in England, presumably from the seventies. The clip is about 'Supervan' which might also be worth watching.

Re: the load of Dodges and Plymouth on the ship

Prior to the St Lawrence Seaway changing everything, mother Mopar used to ship by boat from Detroit to Buffalo where the cars were unloaded under the Skyway. Dean F Johnson, a dealer with a number of locations in NE PA, used to load up a fleet of used cars with teachers, insurance salesman and miners, drive to Buffalo and then return home in a new car
