And, there is ANOTHER 1961 all-tan Windsor 4-dr sedan, shown at/on the Caribou Hotel postcard, at Loring Air Force Base, in Maine. AND: doesn't that '57 Adventurer look a tad out-of-scale, compared to the nearby early-50's Chrysler, and that '57 Chebbie convertible? I can only see one '61 Windsor at the Caribou Hotel and a '57 Belvedere,can you spot the FL trade-in at Ralph Pool Cadillac. I sure hope my computer doesn't crash !!!!!!!!! I don't know what to store them on. It would take a zillion CDs to store all of these pictures. Ya need to upgrade to DVD+RW. ;) More room for pictures....:laugh:  | ||

The gentleman that uploaded the photos, Hans Melin, sure did enjoy taking photos of everyone he knew next to their car. There just a few forwardlooks, but these are all worth seeing because of the old cars and scenes in the background. So cool! http://www.cardatabase.net/search/search.php?photo_view=&where=IDEg... When you get to the bottom of the page, click "next" to see more. Here is a wierd one - a 1966 Sunbeam Imp taken in California in 1967. I don't believe I've ever seen one of those. Must have been a car that had limited distribution. We had those in Sweden - I don't think they got any better by the cruise over to the states. Note that it has SVE for licence plate, which in turn ar short for Sverige (Sweden) HATE to disappoint you, but that's a California Black Plate and the letters and numbers combination is probably just a random grouping. I think this car was used at a San Jose Cadillac dealership to pick up and deliver cars. We had a 1967 Type III hatchback for just this purpose at the VW garage I used to work for too. Maybe they sold Sunbeams for awhile too? After all, there were dealerships that actually sold Yugos too back in the 1980s. JUNKY as hell. I've had to look REALLY REALLY close at somebut I have found at least one FL car in almost all of the pictures. There were a very few that I simpl couldn't find a FL car in, but not many. One thing that continues to strike me is that most of the vehicles are passenger cars, and it's wonderful to see all those beautiful examples from the 1950's and 1960's. Inactive by user's request Location: Las Vegas, Nevada | Same location. Look at the changes over the course of a decade. The '57 Plymouth in the postcard view is the newest car I see. Now look at the black and white photo. The Pontiac and the Chevelle are circa 1966. I point out the model years of the automobiles to set a time reference. Look at the buildings, streetlights, condition of the trolley feeder cables, etc. Also note that in both photos, people dressed more formally than today. Even casual wear had buttons and collar. I wonder if that is the same police officer in both pix? K.
