Wow! a 57/58 Bumper on a '59! There's an interesting look right there!
Is this baby a PlySoto Diplomat?

Yes, it is a Diplomat. Reciprocally, here is a '59 bumper (or at least upper bar) on a '57 Fireflite in Finland (photo from 1979). It was exchanged because the front end collision happened 1978 and the correct bumper was hard to find.

Joak, you should say 50's-60's decade.

The '57 is alive and well, in good hands and still has that '59 bumper bar. Click this LINK. Photo from 2010.

National Taxi

Nice Plodges!

Quite weird that the street name sign was removed on that photo.

That's Montreal, corner or Clark and La Gauchetière streets.

Here's a version with the street sign.

While on vacation at Myrtle Beach, there was this upside down house called "WonderWorks" and they had some old pictures in the lobby on the walls. One in particular caught my eye, it was at night and there was a parking lot of cars. Taking up a quarter of the picture was the side view of a two tone light and dark green 1959 Dodge Coronet. Plenty of googie architecture and neon in the background, as fireworks were in the sky. Tried to find it on the internet, but with no prevail. Did find this though, guess it will work.

Also on the History channel there was a Modern Marvels on Route 66. There was a 1958 Belvedere Sport Sedan with the Sport-tone inserts if my memory is right, along with a '57 Plymouth.

Never heard of that movie, but it 'sounds' like a real cult-flik!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Riding_the_Bullet_%28film%29

Just checked and this flik got a Rotten Tomatoes reviewer score of 29 and
a viewers score of 37; not great.

The book's cover features a late 60's Mustywang on it.

Of course...

But it was nothing like the word 'gay' denotes today, it used to be a nice word (and name!).

Chrysler made a gay car?

All of the artwork for everything Chrysler Canada was done by the brother of a good friend of mine. I still cringe when I recall him telling me he used to have that artwork piled up under his bed and used it for all sorts of nefarious undertakings - none of which were at all related to the preservation of same!

Chrysler made a gay car?

===================================================

I came home from AFG to find I can now marry another dude. Two nights ago
2 dudes were getting married on TV, and last night a whole room full of flames
were being highlighted as the theme of a show. This ain't my war, but I find it
hard to believe how much this stuff is being crammed down our throats. I will
not be surprised when the La Femme is re-introduced, and this time not for women.

It's not my war. Got no real desire to tell anyone what to do in their own bedrooms, you know ?
But rubbing it in my face fills me with the urge to vomit.

Not sure why we are being forced to have our noses rubbed in it. When does aberrant behavior
cross the line into mental illness ? I have no dog in the fight, but find it odd that within my lifetime
this has gone from a personal, kept to oneself issue, to such an in-your-face social campaign. Why
does anyone else need to know how a person swings unless you are going to be involved with them ?
Really ? ... we all need to know this ? I have never felt the need to let everyone know I'm straight.
Wassup with that ? How about some modesty ?

What's modest about our Finned beauties?

[Warning: thread highjacking now in progress....]

Seems that Brent is taking offense to other peoples' liberties.

As in Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.

San Francisco's Sutro Cliffhouse and Sutro Baths serve as the backdrop for this picture, which was taken approximately 1959. Besides the '57 Plymouth in the foreground, I can see a 1957-58 wagon in the distance on the far right, where the Rambler is driving into view. This is a part of San Francisco that literally doesn't exist anymore, and it wasn't because of a self-serving politician. Most of the Sutro buildings burned to the ground in 1966, in a fire that was of a suspicious nature.

Read it again, Neil. I said it's not my war twice.

What I do have a problem with is having it rubbed in my face. If rubbing it in my face
is someone else's pursuit of life, liberty, and happiness ..... how is this any different than
forcing everyone else to conform to their religion, other social views, politics, etc. ????

But thanks for trying to twist my statements around.

Are you really going to try and link flamboyant homosexual behavior and finned cars
together on the grounds of immodesty ? Wow.
