Especially with like 6 cops visible behind him ignoring him. Oh Boy! there's the first one to hit E-Bay!! FOR SALE: One piece of muddy, wet, rusty, not usable, complete sh*t, 12" section of the Tulsa Plymouth's leaf spring....... Reserve price? $75,000......Please place bid now....And good luck!

Expert Posts: 2721 Location: Minneapolis | It would be nice to see the winner donate the vehicle to the Tulsa Historical Society. Regardless of some people's opinions on the worth of this car, it is nonethelesss of historical significance. Hopefully, whoever wins it, won't take the reckless and cavalier attitude that it is a POS. It should be carefully cleaned and left in its current state, put on display for all to enjoy.

Member Posts: 43 | Anybody got a good power washer????? I think that is the correct place to start. A small drain at the bottom of the pit would have helped to preserve the car. I saw that Boyd said that the car was not a pretty sight. I would still like to win the car. What a story the person who gets/restores the car is going to be able to tell!!!! polaraman Edited by polaraman 2007-06-16 9:26 PM

Expert Posts: 2721 Location: Minneapolis | If you DONT wanna get really angry, then DONT go over to Moparts.com where a fair number of losers have almost outright disdain for Ms Belvie. Many have voiced that that it should be a parts car or just CRUSHED! Can you believe that?! I guess all the testosterone from driving "muscle cars" has gone to their heads. I guess we all are a different breed and REAL CAR GUYS!

I guess we all are a different breed and REAL CAR GUYS! Of course, in the Ch*vy world, you have obese old guys who can finally afford a Corvette or Chevelle SS, but can't squeeze into either......so they build full size, big block Impala SS clones! I guess most Mopar muscle car people stay trim enough to fit into their A, B and E body performance machines. K.

Expert 5K+ Posts: 6203 Location: Big pimpin' | Dam, has this Tulsa thing got alot of people talkin'!! REAL CAR GUYS??? Just because we drive the cars with 700 H.P., 4-speeds, and DANA rears, that makes us losers??? We feel the same as you about the Tulsa plymouth, just some people would rather tell it like it is...... I don't think it should be crushed, but it's definately junk now......... Some are for restoring it, some are for keepin' it like it is....Has anyone thought of rcording the VIN # yet?? What are all of you gonna do when the "NEW OWNER" takes his/her prize to E-BAY??? You gonna call him/her and offer a fortune for the "Historical" worth?? You put that rusty, wet, muddy, gone to nothing, P.O.S. (Even with it's "History"), in front of people, Your gonna get that reaction from the people that don't live and breathe fins............... BTW: I've got a 505 C.I. 750 H.P. Dodge Dart "Muscle car".. But I've also got a '58 Plymouth too....Do you do all the work on your car?? There's your REAL CAR GUY!!! Anytime you want to challenge this "Losers" car, I'll set you out 2 length's, and real you in like a catfish! LOL Edited by dukeboy 2007-06-16 11:54 PM

Tell your pals I just found Richard Petty's '64 stock car, the first one ever fitted with a 426 Hemi. It's pretty rough now, not worth bothering with, I think I'll crush it. You guys would be crying and whining and waving wallets like nobody's business. This car is an ARTIFACT. Who gives a crap if it's restoreable or going to be restored? The Sphinx in Egypt ain't perfect either and I don't see anyone talking about destroying IT. I like muscle cars, but "you muscle car guys" when taken collectively, are a bunch of morons. http://www.buriedcar.com/all_galleries/time/images/IMG_0521.jpg http://www.buriedcar.com/all_galleries/time/images/IMG_0520.jpg http://www.buriedcar.com/all_galleries/time/images/IMG_0505.jpg http://www.buriedcar.com/all_galleries/time/images/IMG_0504.jpg http://www.buriedcar.com/all_galleries/time/images/IMG_0494.jpg http://www.buriedcar.com/all_galleries/time/images/IMG_0497.jpg Edited by 57burb 2007-06-16 11:56 PM

Expert 5K+ Posts: 6203 Location: Big pimpin' | Personally, I couldn't give two Sh*ts wheather it's Petty's or anybody's HEMI car, just don't like em'.... I'll bet we'd be a bunch of "Morons" if the car was a Cuda,Challenger,Charger, etc., and we said that about it too! None of us would even care if it was a "Muscle car" buried in the ground, but since it's a F.L. car, they said what they said because they don't live and breathe fins.......They could care less about a '57 Plymouth, but if it were a HEMI Cuda, then you would see a different side of them! My thinkin' is.....If the gentleman didn't want to here what the "Muscle car" guys had to say, well what the hell was he over there for in the first place? Edited by dukeboy 2007-06-17 12:04 AM

No, it doesn't. But the next time some a$$hole stops by my house and asks me what I'm gonna do with my Imperial and tells me I should "harvest" the 440/727 and find a B or E body to put them in, I'll break his teeth with a f*ckin' crow bar! I grew up liking both full size cars and muscle cars and I know the type of a$$holes Doug is referring to. If you like anything full size or with more than two doors, to them, you're into "grandpa cars" and you are wasting your time. They are entitled to their opinion, but they don't need to question my manhood for driving an station wagon or vintage luxo-barge. We have many people here, you included, who respect other people's choices. But some people either have small apendages or shoot their load before the women in their lives are satisfied, so they have to put on some sort of phony macho bravado b*llsh*t. And they do this by ridiculing people who stand up for being different. K.

Expert 5K+ Posts: 6203 Location: Big pimpin' | I'm guilty of takin' a few Imperials apart for the 440/727 combo's, but I've also cruised a '66 Chrysler (Yes, it was a four door), and loved that ol' car.... After the unfortunate incident with a "Driver of limited brains", it was totaled...Then, I harvested the 440/727 and put em' in a would you believe it?, another luxo barge...('68 FuryIII)....... I still don't think it should be crushed! Edited by dukeboy 2007-06-17 12:21 AM

Inactive by user's request Location: Las Vegas, Nevada | dukeboy - 2007-06-16 9:19 PM I still don't think it should be crushed! Neither do I. Oh, I would harvest a 440 from a wrecked or rusted luxo-barge or C body. I was talking about the people who pick up a 35,000 mile survivor at an estate sale and not only harvest the drivetrain, but cut away the wiring and linkages, making it harder for the next owner (if any) to put it back on the road. Man, those old C and D bodies are great road cars! k.

Member Posts: 43 | Let us not forget that the P-38 Glacier Girl layed under the Greenland ice cap for over 50 years. It was restored and is in flyable condition. This car would be much more easy than a plane. I just wish I was there. We could have taken donations of quarters and visited the local car wash. I wonder what it looks like under the muck??? The hood and trunk were opened w/o any great difficulty. They did not even disconnect the battery before installing it in the tomb. Where are our reporters from the field? What's the verdict on the scene? My bet is that the car will hit Ebay. That is if the winner does not have the funds to restore the car. polaraman

Expert Posts: 2473 Location: Dalveen, Queensland, Australia | I think those who reckon on keeping the car as it is are overlooking something important... Exposed to the air, with no paint on much of the metal, there's no way it can possibly not deteriorate rapidly from here on in. It has to be restored to survive.
