Hi all - Went for a drive this weekend and photographed the Custom Royal at a few old places. This is Gabel's General Store at Ladywood. It was built circa 1930, and is a Provincial Heritage site: http://www.gov.mb.ca/chc/hrb/prov/p062.html

It's been a set for more than one Hollywood film. Most recently Margaret Laurence's The Stone Angel; but last year it was in "Maneater", a made for TV movie starring Gary Busey. A local guy showed me some photos he took during the filming, including one of an exploding dummy propane tank out front. He also told me one of 3 Tigers on set managed to get free and wander around town for several hours!

Oh, wow! That car was already one of my favorites on this site, but with the wide white tires, it's even better! What a beauty!!!

Sorry for the late reply. It's in Douglas, Manitoba. Just off the Trans-Canada on the road to Shilo armed forces base. It was gone for about a year since I posted that photo but has returned with a new coat of black paint. I haven't had a close look at it since; it still had part of one original wood handgrip when I photographed it.

I'm curious to know was this an original tri-color or was that a choice you made when you restored the car? To say it again this makes these cars look very sporty.
