Account Suspended Posts: 2827 Location: At "The Rock" in upper East Tennessee | For those of you who do like seeing my flooding of advertisement (inside joke ) here is a non FL car that will show an example of one of our more economic ways to refresh an already finished car. This '40 Buick Eight was finished somewhere around 15 years ago and done with a single stage paint which looks nice but has lost some of it's luster as well as it has some orange peel and a few dings, scratches and some minor rust bubbles in a lower door. For the most part this is a "scuff it and spray it" car but with a small bit of work to be done. In the pictures below you can see some of the spots that have to be fixed.

Account Suspended Posts: 2827 Location: At "The Rock" in upper East Tennessee | I recently made a deal with a fellow that subcontracts out at $40.00 per hour and is a master at any mechanical aspect you can throw at him. He also can repair or restore Air conditioning systems. Some jobs he would do here in my shop while some would need to be transported to his for a small fee.

Account Suspended Posts: 2827 Location: At "The Rock" in upper East Tennessee | It seems that I have now also moved into the world of H-D. I know this isn’t Forward Look related but this thread has always been to showcase the many different types of work done here at “The Rock” and because I feel like this place was born from this forum I want to share what I do here. I just took in this ‘91 FXRP (former cop bike) for a customer in Australia. It’s a good base to start with. Right now the direction is for it to become a custom painted and tricked out bike that will be good for around town riding as well as long distance trips. It will get striped to the frame the build will go from there starting with a tricked out Dodge Viper metallic blue and silver chassis to match the tins and the paint job on his ‘46 Chevy truck I’m also finishing up. This is my first bike for a customer as the owner understands that many parts of it will be a learning curve for me.

Account Suspended Posts: 2827 Location: At "The Rock" in upper East Tennessee | Here is a list of parts ideas. (all of these should be at the shop this week) Front tire (for 21" wire wheel) http://www.jpcycles.com/search/productdetail?sku=210-030 Rear tire. http://www.jpcycles.com/search/productdetail?sku=210-025 These exhaust pipes have removable baffles so you can be quiet or loud. http://www.jpcycles.com/search/productdetail?sku=440-392 This is stock replacement for the dashboard on the bike since it has some bad chrome. There are many other tanks and dashes that can be used. http://www.jpcycles.com/search/productdetail?sku=730-533 I don’t know if the owner want's to keep a speedometer and a tachometer but if he does there are lot’s to chose from out there. I like these because they are small and keep up with the clean look. http://www.jpcycles.com/search/productdetail?sku=5600066 http://www.jpcycles.com/search/productdetail?sku=5600076 Here is the carburetor set up from S&S http://www.jpcycles.com/search/productdetail?sku=402-004 The side covers are pretty ruff and I saw these going through the catalog. Also the nut kit for them. Need 2 pair of nuts. http://www.jpcycles.com/search/productdetail?sku=7000085 http://www.jpcycles.com/search/productdetail?sku=7400442 These are neck covers ad they dress up the frame between the tank and forks. http://www.jpcycles.com/search/productdetail?sku=702-165 21" front wheel http://www.jpcycles.com/search/productdetail?sku=200-994 80 spoke rear wire wheel (I think the offset look of 40 spoke on the front and 80 on the rear gives the bike a more slim look at the front than would have with 40/40's) http://www.jpcycles.com/search/productdetail?sku=201-454 Mirrors with signal lights http://www.jpcycles.com/search/productdetail?sku=750-448 Easy way to get yor handle bars up more http://www.jpcycles.com/search/productdetail?sku=5000495 Controls *NOTE* you will need to call them and let them know that this is for a dual disk ‘91 model FXRP (Police) http://www.jpcycles.com/search/productdetail?sku=500-448 Very nice grips that do what they say they do by saving your thoracic spine. (these things are great) http://www.jpcycles.com/search/productdetail?sku=501-978 Oil cooler can be the life of the engine. http://www.jpcycles.com/search/productdetail?sku=740013 Front fender. I think this one would get it the look we are after. If not then pick anything that will fit a 4 ½ inch fork and a 21" wheel. http://www.jpcycles.com/search/productdetail?sku=710-463 Rear fender. I think this one will get it the look we are after. http://www.jpcycles.com/search/productdetail?sku=7110170 Shocks. I think these will look nice and they are ½ inch shorter which will make a big difference http://www.jpcycles.com/search/productdetail?sku=701-483 New wiring harness to get rid of all of the “cop bike” wiring http://www.jpcycles.com/search/productdetail?sku=381-055

Veteran Posts: 195 Location: New Philadelphia, Ohio | Donnie, what color is that blue??? It looks the same as what my old S-10 was painted, which was a 99 Honda Civic color with added blue and purple pearl to the base coat. I love it! Ripper

Account Suspended Posts: 2827 Location: At "The Rock" in upper East Tennessee | Come on by and join the Plymouth Rock Forum and see what’s going on more in depth than I have time to post here. This is not part of any club and will be having more tech sections added as time allows. We are a very laid back group and tend to lean more to “The good old days” of posting. There are many sections dedicated to things other than what I do. http://www.phpbbplanet.com/plymouthrockres/index.php?mforum=plymout...

She is my best friends daughter, an art major at ETSU looking for experience with car building. In these pics I had just given her the basics of leading and this was the first time doing it for her...Girls got talent.

Account Suspended Posts: 2827 Location: At "The Rock" in upper East Tennessee | All done except the electrical and that will get finished this week. The owner will no doubt add some chrome here and there and the seat may get changed but for the most part it's finished. I will have in the ballpark of about 125 hours in it.

Account Suspended Posts: 2827 Location: At "The Rock" in upper East Tennessee | The bike is painted to match his '46 Chevy pickup that I'm doing right now. It has a blue main body with silver fenders. http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/ff245/OverHomeClassics/47%20chev... <a href="http://s236.photobucket.com/albums/ff245/OverHomeClassics/47%20chevy/?action=view¤t=Picture072.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/ff245/OverHomeClassics/47%20chevy/Picture072.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> Edited by 58Donnie 2010-07-19 4:52 PM

Veteran Posts: 195 Location: New Philadelphia, Ohio | I see! That's cool. I might be coming into an Evo powered Electra Glide Classic soon that needs a re-shoot. It's blue too.... The color you painted this bike would look great on that old Glide. Ripper

Account Suspended Posts: 2827 Location: At "The Rock" in upper East Tennessee | Some of what the we have been doing at 'The Rock" As some of you may have read in my other thread "Some changes for the rock" The cars that are here or going to be here in a few months are the last one's that we are doing in mass like this. Once these are done we will do one or two a year and a Harley or Indian every now and then. The reason I am doing this is because I was offered a job as an EMS director that I just couldn't pass up. I also want to do some projects of my own. Edited by 58Donnie 2010-09-12 11:03 PM

Account Suspended Posts: 2827 Location: At "The Rock" in upper East Tennessee | I don't man but it shouldn't be hard to move. This is what I hope to be the last GM product I ever do. I just can't stomach working on them. Everywwhere you turn there is a some design flaw that is nothing but agrivation. This truck came out nice I think. We here at The Rock put in a full custom interior with things like a tilt column, 7 speakers, amp, full console, custom seats, custom smoothed dash, and custom headline and door panels as well as full Dynamat insulation. Other things that were done here, Body repainted or cut and buffed, 2 1/2" stainless Maganflow exhaust, Panless wiring harness, Holley Commander 950 EFI, plus countless other little custom touches. The bike was stripped to the frame, painted to match the truck and has custom touches all over it. It's a long way from the "cop" bike this old FXRP started out as.

Account Suspended Posts: 2827 Location: At "The Rock" in upper East Tennessee | Just to set the record straight so the rumors don't get out of hand... Yes, My wife and I who were also business partners have signed divorce papers. Because of this the "Plymouth Rock" business name will be no more but I will be able to work in the shop till the projects here are delt with. I won't be taking in any more projects. The customers I have now I am working with to either finish the project, get the car to another builder, or back to them. That's the whole story.....sorry it wasn't anymore interesting. In the future I plan on leaning (very lightly) to building a bike every now and then. other then that I'm busy with my Paramedic job, I'm working 15+ twelve hour shifts a month for a service that averages 1000+ calls a month split up with 5 full time trucks. When I'm not there I am working in the shop, this means I'm not the most easy person to get hold of, Text messages are the best way to get me so if you would like my number please PM me
