Extreme Veteran Posts: 331 Location: Northern North Carolina | I'm thinking of attending the Memory Lane event in May 2008. I've been to the website but would love to hear some first-hand info about the show---- how does it compare to other "nostalgia" events? Is there a better show in the southeast/eastern U.S, in terms of having a friendly vibe, a large number of cars, emphasis on nostalgia etc? I posted a question in the main discussion area, but didn't get many replies. http://forwardlook.net/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=19233&post... Any opinions re the Memory Lane show?

Memory lane is GREAT. Not sure how it stacks up to other "nostalgia events" though. They have music, both recorded and live... And they show a "Drive-In" movie at night on their little screen. Lots of cool stuff to look at and pretty good food provided by a local area fire department. Also a nifty swapmeet section with some unique antiques vendors. Definitely worth going to... and WAY cheaper than Lead East. But I've never been there (Lead East) and imagine even Otis' place couldn't compare to such a nationally known event. -NM

Were the Memory Lane folks having a hard time filling up two days and/or attracting a crowd on both days? The website references it "going back to a 1-day event" this year. Will you be there for May 2008?

Don't know about that, man... Not sure why they're going back to a 1-day deal... but it's still a great show, regardless. Personally, schedule conflicts never allowed me to make it over for the Friday night thing. However, a bunch of folks from around here seemed to enjoy the evening before festivities. -NM
