Elite Veteran Posts: 907 Location: Magra, Sweden | Folks, what's going on in your garages? Spring isn't too far away... I've took a rest in redoing a brand X transmission, sat down admiring my beauty. For her I'm restoring the leaking heat control valve with a kit from Napa. I noticed the same rubber is suitable for a lot of different cars ranging from the early fifties to early 80s (including Volvo). Next will be to replace the ujoints. Expert ,, George Passed away July 28th 2021, He will be Missed Posts: 1295 Location: Twin Falls, Idaho | These shops/garages are MUCH TOO CLEAN to get any work done in them. I wouldn't be surprised if you could actually walk over to the tool box and find the right tool in the drawer where it is supposed to be located. I will have to find some pictures of our shop/garage and post it here. Many times we need to go out and buy a new tool because we can't find it in the shop.... as soon as we do that, we find the old one buried somewhere. If we don't find it then, we will find it when we are looking for something else. I am puzzled as to how you get anything accomplished with these neat and clean garages. George

Board Moderator & Exner Expert 10K+ Posts: 13042 Location: Southern Sweden - Sturkö island | My garage is so narrow that I cannot even get a sideview picture, I've managed to do some Bit's N Pieces http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fWLF5irmC-Q anyway! Chopped the front manual benchseat frame to the same measures as a 6-way benchseat frame - now I can tilt the seat as it was meant to (check the floor to seat distance) Installed the new padded dash and the optional clear lucite padded steering wheel Installed the optional rear bumper guards (Benchseat_before.jpg) (Benchseat_after.jpg) (Dash_before.jpg) (Dash_after.jpg) (Rear bumper_before.jpg) (Rear bumper_after.jpg) Attachments ---------------- Benchseat_before.jpg (89KB - 131 downloads) Benchseat_after.jpg (82KB - 127 downloads) Dash_before.jpg (93KB - 118 downloads) Dash_after.jpg (90KB - 133 downloads) Rear bumper_before.jpg (71KB - 128 downloads) Rear bumper_after.jpg (81KB - 148 downloads)

Expert Posts: 1302 Location: Skaneateles,NY(summer)/Port St.Lucie,FL(winter) | I only hope that when I put my DeSoto up for sale this Spring, that it will go to Sweden. The workmanship on the cars I've seen is not to be equaled...

Elite Veteran Posts: 907 Location: Magra, Sweden | You're welcome to sell your DeSoto to Sweden, I'm sure it would be well cared over here. Unfortunately the US Dollar is very strong versus the Swedish Krona, increased about 45% since last summer. On the other hand I think shipping costs are going down due to the financial downturns.

Elite Veteran Posts: 907 Location: Magra, Sweden | I've finished the Ranco Heat Control Valve repair with the help of a $9.99 kit from Napa. I hope this one will last the next 50+ years Will be nice to have heat and a working defroster, the Swedish summer evenings are not always warm enough. I still have a lot of sandblastering to do on the -59 300E. But with this wheater i cant. To much moist in the air right now Jörgen

Extreme Veteran Posts: 322 Location: Finland | Daily work is taking all my time so not much going on in my garage... I want to be back on the road at 1st of May so I have to keep my "to do" list as short as possible. Before season opening I´d like to change seat covers, change the rear springs, change the exhaust pipes and install the Rock`n`roll equipment. If daily work is not disturbing too much I just might be able to change also altenator, distributor and intake manifold (60`s Weiand with 3 x 2 bbl). Work started yesterday with a little help: http://public.fotki.com/Juppee/my-projects-and-stuff/random-pictures-car/random-pictures-nee/2.html

Board Moderator & Exner Expert 10K+ Posts: 13042 Location: Southern Sweden - Sturkö island | Jupe, there's two options; box the attach a file after posting when posting a new topic, or Add / Remove attachments when you edit a post. The seatcovers looks nice actually, I'm sure that the final result will be really good.

Actually the best guy to get advice is FinFury57, this all is his profession. He could also make such tricks that would blow our minds. So better be friends with him or he shows his amazing 3D sprite animations he did with his right hand. Edited by Sisu 2009-03-13 3:05 PM

Sisu, You have to learn how to read between the lines, there is a lot of self irony on that clause... I`m 100% left handed myself (and proud of it), and even my daughter is left handed I recently visited Sudan and when using my left hand during dinner I´m sure that I was a bad boy

Jan, I´m keeping all the original parts for the reason if I want to turn everything back to original glory one day (when I get old enough to be called as pussihousu). Actually I have two of those original 2bbl`s... If you are interested. Other parts can be easily found on eBay with reasonable price... PS. Not so long time before the HR&R Show... How can we get left handed Sisu also there + vänster hand språkiga Wizard också

Btw, I'm deeply ashamed but last time I was at Hot Rod & Rock Show in Tampere, 2002 - I won the Eurocar 1st prize To be honest, that is the best American Car show in Finland - and I got a prize with European car! Around 1993 I was there with my 1978 Chevy Camaro Z28 - I built it about 2500 hours (zero budget) and no prize, great. So on 2002 I won with car that I only cleaned and polished, crazy...Actually I had a fight with the head judge, because I didn't want to join the competition, but had to show my car on my friends company booth. I didn't want to show my name with the car, so finally we made a compromise and I cut off my name from the plaque- judge was happy and next day, first prize. Finnish judges are completely bonkers! Regards, Young "pussihousu"
