Hello all, I'm not sure if this is the proper section but I'd like to start up a thread for Forward Lookers pulling old travel trailers. I'm guessing there's more than a few on here with them, would love to see pics! Here is my recently bought 1960 Coastline 16' being pulled this summer by my '59 Regent. Dig the Forward Look-like paint scheme! (No wonder I liked the trailer so much
Also wondering if anyone knows anything about this brand of trailer? I've tried researching all over the net, absolutely nothing comes up. It was built in California, as most trailers of the era seemed to be.

Location: Under the X in Texas		Then this would be the thread in which to place this 318 powered, Dodge chassised Chinook motor home with the Forward Look logos molded into the fiberglass nose and the Forward Look logos emblazoned with appliques on the front sides?  I suppose so.   This is in Comfort, TX, and I believe it can be bought.  Still runs.

Brian, motor is LA 318. The old three speed standard isnt the best for pulling though! 3.54 gears.
That is one cool motorhouse! What year is it?

My 1974(ish) Travelux 16'. Note the mopar wheels.

She's gutted now, and needs a shyt-ton of work, but we did use her as a hardshell tent last year.

Location: Plymouth Spaceport		There used to be a brand of trailer similar to Airstream that used the exact same Chrysler Forward Look two boomerang logo for their trademark! guess Chrysler didnt care,or maybe it was later into the '60s and Chrysler wasnt using it anymore.

Location: Arvada, Colorado (NW Denver Metro Area)		All cool trailers and Motor homes! I plan on picking up an old Airstream or Spartan trailer when my 59 Plymouth Convert is on the road in a month or two. Towing was one reason I put a 413 in it, so it is not straining with the pull.

All very cool...I love the Shasta fins. I've been spending the past few months fixing mine, resealing, going through it...I'm new to travel trailers so it's been a learning experience! Presently trying to get the original Norcold propane/ AC fridge to work, but thinking it's easier and cheaper to put a big block of ice in it for now!
Pinecone, hard to believe yours is a '74-ish, looks way older and I mean that as a compliment

Location: Victoria, BC		Ive been looking into trailers that I could tow behind my 54 Mayfair, and what I have come up with so far is trillium. with a little more digging I found that there was a few forums and extremely large group of old trailer enthusiasts that love to restore and revitalize these old fiberglass beauties. there a little newer than FL but so light that you could pull em with a firefly if you wanted to lol. These people have even made a blog about their ***5*** trillium trailers that they keep buying and restoring.

This image is somewhere on the Forum, but I can't remember where I found it;
it's from one of Charles Phoenix's cool slide show programs...

Growing up, the niftiest trailers were Shastas with wings. All the others were OK,
but a Shasta with wings was the ne plus ultra!

My Uncle Warren was in the US Navy, and made a cross-country trek circa 1957 in this '56 New Yorker,
moving his family to San Diego from somewhere Back East. Shades of Lucy & Desi in the Long, Long Trailer,
it's more mobile home than travel trailer, but you get the idea...

The mention of "The Long, Long Trailer" I like. This movie promp'd Motor Trend Magizine
to do "Road Test". They used a 4 bbl'd 312 cubed Mercury to pull the AirStream Over-Lander.
The top speed of the Mercury was at about 87 MPH with the trailer.

In 1965 They did a follow up story. This time they used a 2 bbl 383 powered 1965 Dodge
4 dr Sedan and a 1965 AirStream Over-Lander.

IF, you belong to any Vintage AirStream Club ( such as http://www.wbcci-denco.org/ ) , they will
all tell you the caravan convoy speed is a steady 55 MPH. At any AS Convoy/Rallye they
will also tell you they are on the CB at Channel 14.

Looks like an Yvonne Mostard '65 to me - those are super cool - low built, light in weight and that spectacular raisable roof.

but you'd have to be in Europe (NL) to have driven it home!

Hi Resurrector, I believe we may just purchased this trailer out of Edmonton. She's now up in the Yukon! Did you ever come by information on the Coastline company? Our searches have come up empty for the most part. How did you come by the trailer? Any history to impart?
