I have a couple of '59 Plymouth wagons (one four door and one two door) and a '57 Chrysler sedan. I also drive a '66 Chevy pickup, have a '68 Imperial, a couple of '59 Impalas and a '72 Plymouth Satellite Sebring my folks bought new. Welcome aboard. K. Edited by Kenny J. 2010-05-03 12:32 AM

I think I may have seen one of your wagons. Do you drive them around town? I seem to remember seeing one of those somewhere in town about a year or two ago, and I know there can't be very many around. It would be cool to have a gathering of all the finned mopars in Vegas, or to start a club just for big finned cars of any make.

Inactive by user's request ![]() ![]() Location: Las Vegas, Nevada | Thanks, Will, but they really aren't nice.....both the Chrysler and the blue wagon need repaints and black wagon needs everything. I was using the blue wagon as a winter car (clear glass and no A/C) until about three years ago. After that, I only drove it occasionally, as it started using oil and smoking profusely. I've done both dry and wet compression tests and the rings are shot. It's been parked since last year. The '57 Chrysler runs but needs to be gone through to make it a driver as it had been parked since 1987. I could get it driveable and registered, but no funds for comestics. The interior is typical Southwestern, baked to a crisp. I have an album on this site you can look through. I plan to have the Imperial back on the road and then do an engine swap in the blue wagon (am replacing the flat head six with a 1956 Desoto 330 V-8.) I have already taken care of the brakes and suspension on the blue wagon, but I have an 8 3/4 rear axle assembly and a slightly beefier tranny with overdrive to replace the current tranny (the wagon is a stick.) Little time these days and even less money. ![]() K. (7826_10388nn.jpg) (imperial002.jpg) (muttley001.jpg) (truckhood003.jpg) Attachments ---------------- ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Extreme Veteran Posts: 475 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Location: Las Vegas, NV | Hi Kenny. Both the Chrysler and the blue wagon look pretty good to me in the pics. My Chrysler needs paint and some bodywork too, but I still love the way it looks and love driving it around.

Inactive by user's request ![]() ![]() Location: Las Vegas, Nevada | The photo of the wagon is almost seven years old. And the Chrysler was just wet from the rain. ![]() Only the Imperial and the truck look about as good as the photos show. Problem with driving these vehicles on a daily basis is they spend a lot of time in the sun. K.

Extreme Veteran Posts: 475 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Location: Las Vegas, NV | That Imperial reminds me of the 66 Chrysler 300 I once had. I loved that car. My taste in cars has changed quite a bit since then. Those cars look too boxy to me now. These days I am totally into big fins and, to a lesser extent, curvy 60's muscle cars. If I had those vehicles in your pics, I would be all about the 57 Chrysler. I'd probably sell both the wagon and the Imperial and the truck too to get the money to fix that beauty up.

Inactive by user's request ![]() ![]() Location: Las Vegas, Nevada | Can't haul stuff in a '57 Chrysler. ![]() Plus the Imperial serves a sentimental purpose. And what I could get for the wagon wouldn't be enough to fix much of anything. I'll get to the '57 when I'm ready. But taste is subjective. Please post some pix of your ride. I'd love to see it. Extreme Veteran Posts: 475 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Location: Las Vegas, NV | Here's some pics, that is if I am doing this right, since I have never posted pics on here before. It runs and drives extremely well, but it needs a lot of cosmetic work, and I am working on getting everything in the dash to work properly. I'd call it a 30 or 40 footer in its present state. ![]() ![]() (IMG_0683 (2).JPG) (IMG_0685 (2).JPG) (IMG_0686 (2).JPG) Attachments ---------------- ![]() ![]() ![]()

Do you know anything about the Mopar club here in Vegas? I checked out their website and I am kicking around the idea of contacting them, but they sound a little stuck up the way they stress that THIS IS A PRIVATE CLUB, and CONTACT US TO SEE IF YOU QUALIFY. Sounds more intimidating than friendly.

Inactive by user's request ![]() ![]() Location: Las Vegas, Nevada | One of them stopped by my house a few years back. I was out front, working on the Imperial. The guy was driving a Ford van. He mentioned he was a member of the club and asked me if I was interested. But then he told me to yank the 440 out of the Imperial and find a "proper" B or E body to install it in. He also made some comment about my wagon, which rubbed me the wrong way, something about "real" Mopars being built between '62 and '74. He gave me a contact number, but I never called. I'll check out your pix. K.

Member Posts: 14 Location: Las Vegas,NV | The 4 door is serving as a parts car for the sport coupe. I will be cloning the Terry Holloway '57 Sport coupe that was built by Larry Watson in 1959/1960.....I love Kustoms and have built and owned quite a few. None as rare and beautiful as a 58 Sport Coupe tho! Here is a larger pic than my avatar. Edited by roaddevil13 2010-08-16 4:19 PM (363-vi.jpg) Attachments ---------------- ![]()

The 61 Chryslers were very well built; probably more per capita 61's have survived than any other Forwardlook year/make car. Actually, I take 'that' back: the hands-down "Survivor" winner is the........1961 DeSoto!!!!! Edited by d500neil 2010-08-18 8:14 PM

It's funny to hear you say that, since 61 Chryslers and DeSotos are such a rarity to see, but you may be right since fewer were made than Dodges and Plymouths, especially, of course, in the case of DeSoto.

Member Posts: 34 ![]() Location: Sioux Falls, SD | Hi! I'm coming down in April to rescue this 56 Windsor Wagon I bought sight unseen. (part of a challenge to see if we can make it). Going to bring a ton of tools and parts to see if I can make it all the way home here in SOuth Dakota.. The car is in Henderson. Always been a California car so that's good.. Can't wait for the adventure - My dad lives there and has seen the car - says it's nice for what I paid. Someone put in a 354 Hemi in there. Thus why I bought it. Always wanted a Hemi and love wagons.. We'll be going over everything to baby it home. Was a daily driver up to 5 years ago. First thing will be to get the old gas out of the tank and make sure that's going to to work.. According to the past owner it was parked because the fuel pump went out and he had too many cars and was selling his property so it got parked. Just got my shop manual so reading that cover to cover. Fun stuff - WCFB, generator/PS, Powerflite oil cooler, dual slave cyl front brakes, dual points and elect wipers - my 58 Ford doesn't even have that.. I'll also need to buy/rent if anyone has one a hub puller. Edited by Manifest Predicament 2022-01-23 3:02 PM
