My friend Alan tipped me off to a couple Forward Look cars last week that I went and looked at. I will post photos shortly.
The "car spotting" section of Collectible Automobile magazine was always my favorite part, so I thought I'd initiate something
similar here with photos of cool cars I see out and about.

Coming soon: 55 DeSoto, 56 Dodge, 58 Plymouth, 59 Imperial, 60 Chrysler, 61 Imperial

Anyone else have "as found" pix of FL cars to post ?

This car used to be seen around the near north side of Spokane. It disappeared a few years ago and just last week I stumbled onto it again about 15 miles away.

Did you check to see if it had a signal seeker radio?

My thoughts, exactly.

Fixed up and restored cars are fun, but few things rival that excitement of when you first find them, be they
a nice original or a field relic.

I got pix of a few more. I'll stagger them out over the next few days. I am sifting through my brain trying
to remember where I have seen cars to go get photos of.

Although not Forward Look, ... in fact, probably the most UN-Forward Looking car of the era .... I think this is a 57 Hudson ... or is it a Nash ? ... looks to be their most senior car was at the time. Whatever it is, it ain't no Chev and it ain't red and white. How refreshing !

Definitely a '57 Nash parked next to the Dorfus Bumpus. The Hudson had a full-width grille and single headlamps, on the same body. This was the very last car to wear the Nash name and logo, and Hudson's version was the last of its kind. Both were replaced by the 1958 Ambassador, as photographed by me at a 2005 AMC car show near Atlanta (and near my house).

What's going to happen with this '57 Coronet D500? It's exactly like the one I used to own, down to the color scheme. Lots of potential here... a remarkable discovery!

That is a '57 Nash Ambassador, the better looking as compared to the '57 Hudson, and the earliest car on the market in the US with dual headlamps and a quite desirable car among Nash /AMC collectors if not rusty.

What kind of money would a minimally rusty turquoise and white one like this be worth in real market, sell now dollars ? Is the Nash crowd
as unwilling to spend money as the Studebaker crew ? I have never run into such a bunch of tightwads as those !

I passed on that '57 the first time I looked at it but, I may be picking it up soon. PM me if you are serious about the bumper. Living proof that the car makers would do just about anything to sell cars. White and red with some orange-like interior color. Not totally hideous, but pretty close.

Boy, what I would give to live where there are still old cars to buy. Here in the Midwest, you are lucky to see anything out in the boonies, and most of the leads I get are from people who think they saw something, and lots of times, it is nothing close to a Mopar. But, it is always wise to do the wild goose chase, just in case. One would think, with all the farms and all the barns, there had to be something stashed away, wouldn't you?

Just goes to show that no matter how picked over you may think an area's gotten, there are still good finds to be had.

I bought my travel trailer from the guy who owns the Belvedere convertible. He's gonna fix it up someday, donchaknow.

Stopped in at that blue Mayfair today and talked to the owner's wife. She wasn't exactly open to discussion. The story is that it's gonna be fixed up (in the meantime, the windshield is busted out), it ain't for sale, and no, I couldn't get a closer look. I tried to tell her about the forum, but I think she was tiring of my presence and wanted me off her land.

darn shame to see it out in the open like that. In no time, it'll be a pile of rust.

Not a Forward Looker, but semi-related.

I was pleasantly surprised to find this car parked down the street from my home last night. Looks to have new plates,
like someone just dragged it out of Aunt Minnie's garage after a 30 year slumber.

Looks to be a 52 Firedome. First year for that model AND the "Firedome" Hemi.

I get a little tired of over-polished rides at car shows, but I'll never get enough of seeing work-a-day drivers like this on
the road !

Well, I can't think of a better way to "urge" him along to fix the car or sell than to be friendly and make
my interest known.

Took the camera with me to work and shot some cars I saw along my "patrol"

This 59 Catalina waits for a stubborn owner to get all his "ducks in a row" before he can begin restoring it.
He said he learned to drive in this car and insists he will make it nice again. Very rust-free body. Engine runs.
