Location: Parts Unknown | One can really see the origins of the 61 Plymouth rear side design in this last shot.

Elite Veteran Posts: 1115 Location: CA | Out of all the vert's I've seen I seldom ever see any with the glass rear window. Can that not be saved when making a new top? Edited by Finsinthemirror 2010-08-07 7:54 PM

Location: Parts Unknown | The glass back window is not stock. Most resto people choose to stick with original.

Elite Veteran Posts: 1115 Location: CA | Is that true with the Dodge too? If so then why my car have a very factory looking sticker on the header bar referencing the rear window?

If so then why my car have a very factory looking sticker on the header bar referencing the rear window? My Plymouth has that decal too, but the top I believe is original on the car, no glass. They advised you to unzip the window so it doesn't wrinkle while down.

Elite Veteran Posts: 1107 Location: Arvada, Colorado (NW Denver Metro Area) | If you look closer the back window on this 59 SF convert in this Ebay auction it is the plastic one, It is not a glass one. In several of the Photo shots you can see the wrinkles in it. They did a good job in keeping the back window apron taught when they stapled it the rear top frame bar. My 59 Plymouth Belvy convert also had the caution decal about unzipping the rear window on the underneath of the front header, or at least remnants of it when I bought the car 6 years ago. I was able to get the replacement decal from Gary Goers for mine. Edited by 1959 Belvedere Conv 2010-11-16 7:44 PM

Posts: 19146 Location: bishop, ca | Generally speaking, what is the life expectancy for a back plastic 'window' to remain relatively clear? This car's 'window' looks like it's turning hazy. I know; if the top is always down, and the car is parked in a dark garage.....but, I mean: for a reasonably-driven car, how long does that plastic window remain in show-quality condition?
