Veteran Posts: 174 Location: Camptown PA | Here are some pics of my 1960 Convertible. I've owned it for one year and put the last of the interior in her yesterday. Veteran Posts: 140 Location: Middletown CT | I don't think I've ever seen a 60 Dodge Dart vert in white except for in a Mopar book somewhere ...Very rare ! Also, most of the convertibles have the optional all-vinyl interior! Looks new! Great car! Beth Harris

Posts: 19146 Location: bishop, ca | Is that an Original Auto Interiors pre-done set, or individual pieces (or a pre-done set) from SMS? Whichever: BEAUTIFUL creation and installation work! Got any interesting stories about getting or installing that interior? ...Ian; you DO miss that car, huh? Edited by d500neil 2010-10-20 6:14 PM

Neil ha ha... of course I miss it to a certain extent.... but it lives quite close to me and I see it on a regular basis...... kind of like being friends with a good ( is there such a thing? ) ex-wife or something ... and yes, I miss the 300 as well... but I like the one I have now enough to keep me occupied. : Edited by imopar380 2010-10-20 7:30 PM

Veteran Posts: 174 Location: Camptown PA | SMS provided the cloth. I went with a more modern vinyl ( the 60 style looks too much like plastic to me). Sent the vinyl info to SMS they made the door panels and seat inserts for me. A local company sewed the seats and rear arm rests. I figured that the interior would take about 3 months it took almost 8. My biggest worry during this time period was that, even though both companies were supposedly using the same vinyl, the red would be off. The new top was also an adventure. Got the top, new pads and tack strips from M& T Mfg. Found a shop to put top on but they would not paint the frame. To paint the frame, I had to remove the old top. So I figured - How hard can it be?- and decided to install the new top myself. The hardest part was re-using the existing holes around the trunk to attach the new back curtain ( the top had been changed before and the area around the trunk was full of holes). We'd get it in the right place and would then have to fumble around to find the existing hole all the while trying not to loose the stretch. Oh well it did not turn out too bad for a first try.

Your local upholstery shop did a nice job, there--which is only as to be expected, from a pro-shop.

New User Posts: 1 | That is a sweet Dart convertible. My dad had a '60 Dart Phoenix convertible he bought new. The color was called Beige Fawn, or perhaps Fawn Beige. Either way it was pink to anyone who saw the car. It had a 318 and a three-speed Torqueflite. Beautiful car. Dad drove it daily for about seven years and had it repainted once when the salt began it's evil work. Then it became my car and I drove it for a few years. Even with rust it was a great date and beach car. Eventually I sold it to a friend who ended up driving it to his family farm in Pennsylvania where it was parked next to a delapidated barn. The farm was sold and the car got dragged off to the crusher. I would love to have that car back today. I'm still looking for a replacement. But perhaps not pink.

White top on mine; and I replaced the top on mine, too. Had a well thrashed 383 with Ram Induction. Only one picture & I can't find it right now.
