Thanks for the scare, Jupe Hell, *I* would have paid $5K for it. Looks like some folks want it badly.

$15K appears to me to be "all-in" (....as they say, at auctions) money for this car, as-is.

The wheel covers look to be wonderful, and they are probably worth around $1K (or more!).

i've been watching '56 Adv sales for YEARS...
there was NO WAY this thing was ever going to move for LESS than $14 to $18 thousand...
bid history only shows two bidders, i'd expect more to show up as the eBay listing approaches its last couple of days...
i'd personally be surprised if she doesn't break $18 to $22...

The attraction of this car is its 'rare' gold main body color, and the fact that it is virtually 100% intact.

Except for the buying of the rough upholstery and leather and headliner, and the stitching/creation of the interior-finish,
everything else looks to involve overhaul operations, but, virtually every component on this car will need to be
overhauled, at considerable time and expense.

What is the fair market value of a (this-) 1956 Adventurer, in Condition-1 restoration; $60-80K (depending on the auction
site, and when it crosses the block) ?

If someone buys it at 20K, he'll probably be at a break-even point if the car is restored by a Pro shop.

A person with $70K of disposable income may be better off buying a completely restored car, unless he has no profit motive
in restoring this car, over a prolonged time.

Max, it only takes two bidders...the B-J car was a very lovely 2-tone combination; the gold is not as attractive as those
other colors were.

The B-J gets the highest-rollers, so, who knows what it would bring (after deductions for shipping/travel expenses and
seller's commission?

The B-J doesn't allow for Reserves, so, there's no protection for the sellers from losing money on their investments.

i sincerely hope that the guy/gal that buys this, buys it for their LOVE of the CAR, not for some d@mn "profit motive"...

Eric, it would take somebody with BOTH a whole lotta love for this car and a whole lotta DINERO to spend, on its
purchase, and on its restoration.

Most people meeting that criteria STILL do not ever drive their cars very much; they go into a "collection" or into a
private museum....wherefrom they eventually get sold at auction, and the cars are, then, either put into another "collection"
or into another private museum...etcetcetc...

Once a car turns-hands at about 100Large, it tends not to ever be seriously driven again.

I like how the seller pulls the famous "one just sold at Barret Jackson for $143k" bit.

He leaves out how much time and money it would take to get this car to that point.

There was a 1956 adventurer in a storage lot out here for 20+ years, vandals kept hopping the fence stripping all the emblems trim and wheels off it until it was pretty picked over, then the elderly owner stopped paying and it went into a Lien sale auction.

yeah, i get so SICK of that CRAP...
pretty much EVERY classic car i've ever shopped around for, i've ran into sellers trying to sell a rusting-out flat-black "rat-rod" with missing trim, extremely deteriorated interior, et cetera pointing out CRAP that "one of these is listed on eBay for $xy,000"...

so freakin' what, that doesn't make your $3k "heap" worth $9k!
