Member Posts: 24 | Has anyone purchased any parts from Johnny Rosen in AZ? He seems like a rather nice fellow, but that doesn't mean anything anymore! I would like to hear the experiences of others here, good and bad!

Elite Veteran Posts: 1102 Location: Hayward, Calif | Hey Guys, I got some 62 Olds Starfire parts from him, but that was back in the mid to late 80's. It did seem a little slow in coming, but did get the parts I needed. I think if I was to do business with him again I would go there personally. Maybe things have changed somewhat since then. Just my opinion and experience. There is another guy near there, would have to look back thru the receipts to get the name and location. His name was ' Red '. He got me a hard to find chrome piece for the 65 N Y'r. Price seemed reasonable at the time. If anyone wants this info I will take the time to look it up. Jerry

Member Posts: 8 Location: Mount Gambier, South Australia | I think I just had a narrow escape from this character... I just today (5th August, 2011) completed a transaction through his "imperialbubba" ebay ID, he emailed me on (July 16th 2011) the week before he actually mailed the item to Australia, he cracked a few jokes and told me it was soon to be on its way, everything seemed to be fine (seemed an okay guy) and not long afterwards his ebay user name became non-registered and the item listing was delisted entirely from the ebay site. This concerned me as I paid a large amount of money for the item, I let things go for a while to see what would happen. A few days later searching through 1958 Plymouth listings I ran acrosss the identical item pictures being used on another ebay ID "kaysoriginals" listings (feedback rating 0) which got me more worried that I had been scammed. After a few weeks I decided that the only course of action to take was to go through claim disputes in PayPal, which I did. I sent a message outlining my concerns of how he had disappeared from ebay through PayPal's dispute system and received an email the following day (ALL IN CAPITALS) full of abusive comments that were incredible to read. He did give a USPS tracking number for the first time in the email and I was lucky enough to track it and see it had been sent. He never offered me this before, he blamed me for not providing a telephone number through PayPal so he could call me personally in Australia from the USA. (no-one in my entire time using ebay (some 10 years) has called me but uses ebay messages system instead, not to mention that I had no other way to contact him but through PayPal). Incredibly the package arrived today and the goods were as described, but I am very wary of him now. Funny, I read the PayPal claim dispute chapters regarding sellers and how to reply and high up on their listings is "don't be abusive to your buyer" in emails. Remember: imperialbubba is "non-registered" now, kaysoriginals is Johnny Rosen's wife's ebay ID

Expert Posts: 1488 Location: Florida | Maybe send eBay a copy of those rantings, along with the "don't be abusive to your buyer" text from eBay's own site? I'm sure they'd like to see that.

Expert 5K+ Posts: 8443 Location: Perth Australia | I have now dealt with John Rosen I bought 2 sets of the dual antennas, No problem with the transaction, I did give him a number to call and he did call me and let me know that the items were sent. When they arrived, the packing was beyond belief, could have ran over it with a truck, every thing was spot on. The guy seems to get a bit nasty if he is being messed around (as do most people) I would buy from him again As for the antennas themselves, they are very nice, not as tall as I thought they would be, but nice all the same. If I thought htere would be a market for them here at the right price, I would buy him out of them. It took 3 to 4 weeks for the items to arrive here. A bit long, but then again, I have still not recieved my IBM card stuff from CHS and thats a lot longer than that, and they had already checked to make sure the record was available. Patience is the key with dealing with overseas buyers and sellers, and postage is the normal thing that causes concern

Expert Posts: 2490 Location: Kansas City, KS | I've dealt with Johnny and got parts that I've never been able to find elsewhere. If anyone reads his ads and still expects a transaction like ordering from Sears catalog then they're naive. He's eccentric and his prices for parts and shipping are all over the board but I've never heard of anyone getting ripped off by him. Has anyone paid him money and not received their parts in described condition?

Veteran Posts: 115 Location: Sunny Queensland..AUSTRALIA | newshow - 2011-08-28 11:13 PM .............?????????? WHAT THE????? Can I have a pound of whatever you're on please!Grey's Anatomy DVD Season seven breathe new life in the medical drama, and the connections the characters suddenly come alive again. Plots for this season of Grey traditional dramatic conflict, Desperate Housewives DVD and deeply personal. After a season of stability, Meredith and Derek are in shock at the intersection. Seventh season also includes the famous musical episode, which reminds the viewer that Ramirez was a Broadway star before she logged Grey. Cold Case DVD I think they dealt with the fallout when the finals of last year really well. I love the character stories that ran throughout the season. Yang seemed to take a more center this season, which was great because it is one of my favorite characters. Curb Your Enthusiasm DVD There are one or two small new characters, but I think they are more for future seasons, and added a way to get the countdown to the stories coming Seasons. Meredith has a great story this season, which came kind of life towards the second half. Karev centric episodes were actually my favorites. Hopefully at some point something will actually be good for him! The L Word DVD The characters continue to improve. It was a boring episode of the season. The musical was fun and I think we can determine who can sing and who can not sing so Callie almost all the main songs. An incredible season, which can only improve in next year. Criminal Minds DVD

Expert Posts: 1590 Location: Scottsdale, AZ | Thanks for the warning about Rosen. I'm in AZ, but I would never give my hard earned cash to a psycho business man, even if he had the last '56 Dodge part on the planet. He's got 20 years on me, so I'll just wait him out and buy it from his widow cheap when he's dead. Or, if he is just a parts locator, he wouldn't have it anyway. I don't need as many original or NOS parts as you restorers, so I can live a long time with aftermarket or something else that works. I have always been able to find any part I needed (Dodge, Hudson, Triumph, etc.) by using my own time, I don't need a parts locator nor do I have the money to pay for a high priced locator (can I say HOOKER?). I get "f'd" enough at home....I don't have to pay for it! lol

Expert Posts: 3887 Location: Northen Virginia | You said it all, i don’t know in what world is living but I'm sure he’s getting cranked up for the Nordics buyers who depend on a guy like this. These cars are not Duesenberg J, just regular undervalued vintage Detroit iron.

Member Posts: 5 Location: San Diego, CA | A little update on Johnny Rosen- Long story, but after a bad business deal with him where he didn't hold up to his word on delivering "every nut, bolt, and part that goes with your car" - A LOT of random parts but specifically asked about a couple interior trim parts and the left and right hand side mirrors - which after almost a year of asking him to send out I found listed on ebay under a new seller name "TECHNO CHICK" with the auction photo showing them ON THE CAR I BOUGHT. I called and got yelled at and and cursed out and called a cheapskate because I didnt want to buy from him on any of the parts I needed and kept going to his competitors (my response to this was, I cannot afford your prices and dont, for example, NEED show quality brake drums that cost $200 each for this car) and then was hung up on multiple times after he ranted and raved about how he sold all his stock to some girl who was now selling the parts and he was just helping. (riiiiight) and was moving to Sweden. I fired off one last warning to him, saying that the deal was broken and that I'd report him to ebay for misrepresenting his identity/selling stolen parts if he didn't get back to me- heard no response and finally notified ebay. So, now he's been kicked off ebay as Imperial Bubba, I assume- before he adopted this new Techno Chick character for some bad dealings... and now that username has been booted as well. I'm keeping an eye out for a new incarnation of Johnny Rosen to pop up. He is now my hobby. Sad, he coulda saved himself a lot of trouble if he'd just settled with me on mailing out the darn mirrors and a few misc knick knacks the car is missing. I would have written off the rest as bad judgement and a lesson learned. It was pretty obvious that he gave me any and all of his sh!ttiest parts whenever he put the car together for shipping. 3 out of 4 unusable brake drums, mis-matched wheels with major dents in the rim edges and the wrong drive shaft parts- with completely worn out joint and carrier bearing. I ended up having to shorten it to fit and went through a nightmare getting the park brake drum sorted out so we could even DRIVE the car. The parts he did send along when asked were cheap, and not high dollar items... its obvious now that he never intended to send me the mirrors since he has 3 sets he tried to list on ebay. Anyway, keep an eye out for him. He is a horrible person and not to be trusted, especially now that he is trying to liquidate his stock and leave the country. Spread the word to anyone you know, on other boards, and any forums etc. He's gonna be on a ripoff rampage now that ebay has dropped him.
