That engine is NOT original for that car in that configuration. In '58 the dual quad 318 was a FURY exclusive engine, the option motor in everything was the 350 golden commando.
CORRECT! But let me re-phrase your statment. The ENGINE, 'MAY" be correct. The 2,4's on top of it, are waht's not correct. Those WCFB's are '57. '58's had AFB's
Granted, the '58 Fury engine, was
(in theory
) not available in other models.
But it was still a 318 with two 4-bbl WCFB carburetors
(see the '58 service manual page 383
).
The AFB's were only for the 350 and the 318 Super Pak which had only one 4-bbl
(see the '58 service manual page 394
).
