factory hangers , extremely low miles , garage kept since new would be a good start . after that , most likely a toss up

Check... seem to be

Check... currently 32,568

Check... Canadian car, no rust, seems to have been a 'summer driver' up there... car then went to Texas, then to South Dakota (where I found it), then to North Carolina, now in Santa Barbara with me... daily driver, about 40 miles a week or so.

will see.... Thanks for the input!

peace love and fins

In 1960 the only Windsor to have Dual Exhaust was one that also
had the OEM 4 BBl Carbuator.

The tip of the Tail Pipe should also have "The MoPar Hook". If it
is a straight piece of tail pipe that hangs low or is extended past
the rear bumper, it is in-correct.

Thanks for all the hints, gives me lots to check...

Neil, hopefully pics soon... I know my exhaust has been replaced over the years, but just trying to determine if the car came from the factory with the duals that it has...

... If the original engine had a 4 bbl Manifold/ Carb, then Dual Exhaust would have
been OEM.

Other than looking at the VIN, it ha been a long - long time since 1960.

Another 1960 item is 14" Wheels.

Rodger, here's where the story gets a little more interesting... with the car being built in Canada in 59, there are things about the car that are not like the 59 US Windsors. The interior, for instance, matches that of a 59 Dodge Custom Royal, not what you typically find in the US Windsor. There is no fuse panel, only fuseable links in the wires. The engine coding and stamping does not match that of a 59 US Windsor, but rather matches Dodges numbers for that year...

I've considered the possibility that the car came originally optioned with a 4bbl intake and carb, thus making sense for it to have dual exhaust; and that someone along the way swapped it out for a 2bbl for fuel economy... if they did, they found the factory correct 2bbl to put on it with the swap. If it was a power pack option of some kind originally, and changed later, where might the evidence be of the original set-up?

Anyone know if it was it possible to order duals from the factory in 59 with only a 2bbl on the engine? This car has been fun trying to decode and figure out along the last 7 years...

From what I can discern with help of others on the site, I've got a 361 under the hood. Runs like a scalded dog, but generally purrs like a kitten LOL The car is faster than any of my past 60's that had the 383 in them.

Factory or not, the car sounds very nice when running and driving.

Here's the link to my album here for the car... there's pretty good pics of the exhaust in there. Anyone in the know... please take a gander, much appreciated in advance...    http://www.forwardlook.net/forums/photos/photo-thumbnails.asp?album...

Rodger, do you have a photo, illustration or good description of the MoPar Hook?

That would be cool to know exactly what that means.

Thanks,

Wayne

I think he means the downward bend on the end pipes. The exhaust en pipes should be hidden as you can see in the pictures below.

yep Chrysler did something very strange to their factory stinky stuff escape. The put a little up ward bend then down and straight out. A little knowledge for them wanting to keep the OE look. But yep the bolts and hangers aren't off the shelf adaptamatics.

Most factory tailpipes have what I call an "upsweep" at the end.
