I'm not like 99.9% of you who like these FWDLK's slammed to the ground so,
I don't really look for things like lowering blocks or skirts and the like. I very
much by accident came across some skirts that I'm told go to a '57 Plymouth -
two sets actually - one set made by Foxcraft and one Ma MoPar set. How much
should something like these go for ? Not sure if I can get um . . . should I try ???

Don't know if this is of any help at all, but there is currently a new fiberglass set of fender skirts on Ebay with a "Buy it Now" price of $135.00 plus $25.00 shipping.

Many folks don't like fender skirts on FL cars, but there also seems to be other folks out there who are looking for them.

Good luck!

Certainly the factory skirts in steel are the most desirable. Secondly Foxcraft was the primary aftermarket company and in most cases they are very similar to the factory stampings. I'm personally not a fan of the fit of most fiberglass skirts. The current manufacturer supplying most of the skirts to other hobby resellers is Agape Auto http://www.agapeautoparts.com/products/products.htm and you can see their standard price.

I had 2 pairs of steel skirts to a '57-8 Ply. One set was NOS Foxcraft, (or what was left of the orginal Foxcraft box) the other set was,,,,,,,,?? The only differnce between the two, one set had a 'flair' at the bottom, the other set was smooth.

Was that the differnce between the factory optional and the aftermarket (steel) skirts?

I wouldn't pay anything for them. I don't like any forwardlook car with skirts. But that's just my opinion. I personally think that any car with a wheel opening lip looks dumb with fender skirts,,,,,,,

In the early days, fender skirts often went by the name "fender pants".  I'm not kidding.  The use of that is virtually obsolete today but you may run into it somewhere.    Factory literature more commonly called them "fender shields" or "wheel shields".   When fenders started filling in the sides with a bit of sheet metal in the early 1930s, giving an aerodynamic look, that was often called "skirting" on the sides of the fenders.  Most of the US industry did that for 1934 and it was that same year that wheel shields started to appear.    The real source of this was early aerodynamic race cars that enclosed their wheels in the search for higher speeds.
