Isn't this a members car? Gosh that loss of interest was fast.

WHAAAa?!?! She's back! I thought I'd lost her, and she's back on the market again!

*To my faithful 1960 Chevy Bel-Air*

"Charlene, darling, it's over. We have to split up. I've found someone new. Darnit, Don't Cry... As a matter of fact, she's older than you are!"

That's my car. I'm just fishing at this point, I do love the car and have already logged over 600 miles on her in just 2 months (that's more miles than the previous owner put on it in 14 years). It's not for sale outright, just seeing if I could find something I'm more in love with. My wife has also been giving me a little bit of a hard time about it since I'm still working on the Imperial, so the idea was to trade for a smaller classic convertible for her (like a corvair or jeep). If I can't get something for her or something that I like better than this beautiful Belvedere I will continue to hold onto it.

I have a 63 Corvair Spyder but unfortunately it was a gift from my dad so I can't trade, but man it is tempting...

I appreciate everyone's compliments on the car. Don't get me wrong, I'm very happy with the car, but I don't have any emotional attachment to it (like I do my Imperial) and my wife hasn't fallen in love with it either. So, thought I'd see if there was something out there that some one might offer that one or both of us would fall in love with and get really attached to. Cosmetically and mechanically I love the car, I get a ton of attention out on the road and at shows and I love the fact that it is green with green interior. What I don't like are the original drum breaks and the gearing (3.31 rear diff with 2 speed powerflite) but I'm not gonna go nuts changing them or ruining this car's originality. I am impressed that I'm averaging 15 mpg with it currently despite the gearing though, but I'd much rather have a manual trans or torqueflite car. I suspect I won't get any offers for a car that I like better, but I thought I'd throw this out there and see what happens. In the mean time, I'm continuing to improve the car and enjoying it this summer. Who knows, in the fall I may have to sell any way as my wife is starting to talk about having kids now.

No harm in trying, Jon.

The car really looks good since you've been working on it.

Well not only do I have a 63 'vair drop top I happen to have two Jeeps - I would sell/trade either of them for your beautiful car.

Jeep the first isn't probably what you are looking for- it is a 94 Wrangler rock crawler sitting on 35" tires and a 4" lift.
Jeep the second probably isn't old enough- 81 CJ7 with a built Chebby 350 in it. :-)

Yes I have a lot of toys, and just got the FL bug...

Well Jon, unless ya want a 1960 Chevy Bel-Air four door in Cascade Green and Ermine White, with the 'blue-flame six' and in need of new windlace and a headliner...
I'll leave ya alone.

Is your Belair listed for sale somewhere? If not, might be time to send it down the road and get what you really want? Don't mean to hi-jack this thread so no need to respond, just curious.

Well Greg, Let's just say that I don't plan to divorce "Charlene" unless there's some other finned filly waiting in the wings.

Tonight I'm meeting a local guy that is offering me his 1957 Chevy 2 door hard top gasser. It doesn't have a solid front axle, but is set up like a gasser otherwise. It is a 327 SB chevy with 4 on the floor and big fenderwell headers. I will see the car in person tonight and take plenty of pictures, but I'm hoping you folks here can advise me on whether or not I should make the trade. I'm not a Chevy guy either, but if this car is worth more than mine it makes sense so please keep an open mind. The guy I'm meeting is looking for something he can cruise in with his whole family and doesn't want to get into anything that needs a ton of work. Pictures and more details to come as soon as possible.

Scratch that, car was ROUGH, I couldn't believe he was willing to drive it. It was mechanically sound, but the body was full of bondo and all of the body mounts were barely there.

I've decided to sell outright, starting to spend some serious cash on the '56 Imperial. $6500 as is or $6000 with just the original wheels which will need new tires.

I found a buyer for the Plymouth, I feel sad letting it go but it is going into the hands of another young man in a Mopar family. He plans to leave it original, opted out of the new tires I have so he can put some new white walls on the original wheels and run the original wheel covers. It was fun while it lasted.
