I had it listed on ebay and the pics are still up on ebay. I thought someone would want a RARE project car but I've been wrong before. I guess I could crush it.

This is my 1961 Dodge Phoenix convertible. It is a real red with red interior and black top. Hope someone gets this white car and restores it.

I thought it would have gotten higher than it did

I have watched a lot of cars go through ebay and not reach reserve and not reach where I guessed they would get to either.

Can you still contact the bidders? I was thinking that perhaps you could negociate a price with the highest bidder?

I hate seeing cars like this one go buy, but not worth it for me to try to get a project car from over there, the shipping is to much.

Landed over here, at 5k buying, that car turns into at least a 10k investment (read gamble)

The car is worth more than $2100.00. I have some wiggle room to a prospect. There are very few of any verts around in the FL line. If someone wants to make me a REAL offer I'm a phone call away. Thanks for looking!!! By the way that pic of the Red Phoenix shows what one of these cars looks like finished. Thats one fine ride. Thanks for your pic.

I was just kidding about crushing. I throw a decent Convertible out there and I get a $2100.00 bid. And people think I'll take it. I at least got it out of the outside elements and stored inside now to keep it from going down hill any further.

good we had a guy around here crush better than 40 cars 60'2 and 70's stuff tried to save a few but he was so bull headed he wouldnt take $100 over what the crusher would give for parts cars. tons of good parts went to waste because of is PRIDE. sad sad sad days to see that. Best of luck maybe a lottery ticket would get it for me

Thats a darn sight more than the $300 you'll get at the crusher.

You make zero sense.

That seems like a very fair price to me. The car doesn't look to be in bad shape at all. But it is still a major project. I think this is one where it's not about the money, but about finding the right person to take on a very worthy, but very involved project. That take time, I guess.
Good luck. I wish I was looking for a project right now, but I'm already in the middle of a big one Any Forwordlook convertible that is salvageable is an extremely rare and worthy opportunity.

As time goes by fewer of these convertibles will be around to find because of the elements will take them back to earth. I really thought this car would have sold by now. I know the economy has affected everything. Then there are people that will say; I should have bought that car

There is a '61 Dodge 2dr parts car on DoBid .com. It has the 4bbl engine and TF tranny and other goodies to complete this convertible. The Do Bid.com car is listed in a couple of different threads in the FL site.

The '61 Plymouths and Dodges just don't get the respect they deserve. I do have the Vert stored inside to preserve it. Someday someone will pull their head out and see the beauty of the '61 Dodge Convertibles.

I was trying to show people different color schemes. Some people just don't have a vision of how great these Verts are. I have pics of red, white and now I need a good pic of a blue.

Hey Rick !

I've seen how hard and how long you've been looking for that stoneshield. I got a whole bunch of them laying about. If you can send me at least one good pic (to my private e-mail address only please) to show how it looks, you'll have one for free if I find the right one, and if you care to pay the postage

Yes, mr. noname "Finsinthemirror" aren't we all amazed why an old project isn't sold for less then 10 K today. Cars that you could have for 1000,- to 1500,- bucks just a few years ago. A model that is often called "the ugliest car in American automobile history".

For a very special car, you have to find a very special person. I mean, since most people today do not seem to have an opinion of their own. It's what's "in", what's popular among the crown that counts Like the '55 to '57 socalled classic Chevys and the 15 to a dozen Mustangs.
