Elite Veteran Posts: 827 Location: tailFinland | Thanks for the pics Magnus. I was unable to attend even I planned it for months. Old friend of mine and also a Mopar enthusiast passed away in age of 40, and funeral day happened to be on same day.

Elite Veteran Posts: 673 Location: Malung, SWEDEN | The post got me thinking about life and how important it is to have fun sometimes. Publishes some more pictures from Finland in honor of Adventurers 60 lost friend.
Seen in the background is our boat. Strict architecture and beautiful buildings characterize the city. Note the tramway rails in the street. Zacke enjoying the beautiful view in the shop window... A beautiful view of downtown Helsinki taken from the upper deck of the boat. From the boat you can also enjoy the Finnish archipelago with all its small islands. Viking Line is the competing shipping company. Port of Helsinki. Red cottage on a small island, freedom! The autumn sun descends down over Helsinki, and the archipelago. At the same time shopping at the boats commercial street ... Maybe not so much Mopar this time but still nice. Need I mention that the Forward Look cars won a double victory at the show. Thanks Finland, we will return.

Elite Veteran Posts: 827 Location: tailFinland | You are right about the life Magnus. Passed firend of mine would also appriciate these pictures. Actually he did not have many chances to travel aboard becouse of his sicness. His only tirp was in mid 90's to Sweden to drag race and Södertälje markanden. He got tumor in his head about 18 years ago. Went thru several operations by the years and very hard treatments that finally took his all power. Couple years ago when he was hardly able to stand or talk, his prognose was bad - he wanted to buy a 71 Duster with 340 and sixback from USA - wich he did. Even on last months when he was only able to lye on bed and couldn't talk, he ordered parts for his Mopars. He did not give up, life gave up on him. Edited by Adventurer 60 2013-11-05 8:19 AM

Elite Veteran Posts: 673 Location: Malung, SWEDEN | Fireflite56 - 2013-10-07 3:11 AM Hi, I am part of the family that sold this car to Magnus. When we bought the car, we were told that his car was purchased new by Elvis Presley for his pastor. I don't know if this is true, but if you send in a request for the information on the car from the Chrysler Historical Society, it should show where it was sold new. Obviously a Tennessee or surrounding area dealer would be a good indication the rumor is true. David! Work on "Hernando" continues. Owner Magnus K now has facts from CHS. As you can see the Adventurer was produced May 10, 1957,

We now got the 300 F originaltag duplicated. Work is very nicely done and Mr. Carl Stoutenberg was good to deal with. Before he made the tag, we needed to show 300s pedigree. Carl has worked with Gil Cunningham for 25 years to guard against faked car tags for 300s! Original tag is now kept in the safe!

Expert Posts: 1384 Location: Ocala, Florida | Wow looks great! Im trying to memorize the trim so the fireflite and adventurer were the only ones that had the bar all the way up the fender? I haven't really seen a picture of a restored Flite.
Doctor DeSoto |
| ||
Location: Parts Unknown | Correct. Think of it this way, An Adventurer IS a Fireflite with a few added goodies and a limited color selection. The Firedome is the el Cheapo DeSoto with the different interior and shortened side trim, etc. Firesweep is essentially a Dodge with just enough Firedome sheetmetal and trim to hang DeSoto tags on it.

Maybe 5, I think Doc said there was one other one in the US. Another drop dead gorgeous car with an insanely low survival rate. Go figure. Edited by christine-lover 2013-11-24 7:52 PM

Exner Expert 19,174 posts. Neil passed away 18 Sep 2015. You will be missed, Neil! Posts: 19146 Location: bishop, ca | With all the restoration work on the baby blue Soto, what was the reasoning that decided to install the rear view mirror in a practical, as opposed to the OEM location on the fender? A VERY effective usage of the OEM driver's-side rear view mirror is to apply a large convex mirror to its 'face'. You'll find that that convex mirror provides a perfect, complete, view to the side and rear of the car. Pretty sure that the signing on the inner-cowl area was either inspection-approvals or confirmation of the paint/trim on the body, as opposed to being 'graffiti'. Also, note that the same person 'autographed' both cars. Edited by d500neil 2013-11-24 8:24 PM

I work at a Chevy dealership, and no today isn't 1959 when Chevy made their ultimate car. ================================================ I am sorry, but your authority is subordinate to the final word spoken by so many so long ago. These cars are hideous and nothing could be worse or more humiliating to be seen in or around than a 1958 DeSoto. Quality is a level of new, a matter of fashion, and fins are an embarrassing belch in the history of America, only to be exploited by current advertising to sell critical economic product to a much improved America. Don't make me tell you again.

Elite Veteran Posts: 673 Location: Malung, SWEDEN | Yes Spinout, the driving season here is so short and intense so you have to enjoy it as much as possible. What could be nicer than cruising around on a hot summer evening in the midsummer light with the one you love. In any case, its what you dreaming about during the long, dark and cold winter. Let me know. I found out that ones I got in my G are not so good to reuse in new door panels. rears were ok but drivers door.. Since you got so many F and G projects there I think you gonna need a truck load of them too Then tell me a closest match of color (code) for the RAMs - or is any coca cola red just ok

Elite Veteran Posts: 827 Location: tailFinland | Chrys 68 - 2013-11-26 3:41 PM Owner Mats has also chosen to have a chrome dress up kit for the engine. Something which we think was as aftermarket from 1961 onwards. I'm not sure if there was earlier, someone here knows for sure. That is so typical swedish Always adding up bling bling, skirts, conniekits, chrome bolts They may look good in a Chevy but... You gotta consutlt Mats to leave them out
