Location: Northen Virginia | These are my Miller findings:
1960 models
Upper ball joint tool: medium size cars: C-3560 / C-3561 for the full size
Lower Ball Joint tool: medium size cars: C-3560 / C-3561 for the full size
1957 Chrysler/Imperial
Upper ball joint tool removal C-365 / C-3461 installation (yes 2 sockets for the upper)
Lower Ball Joint tool: removal /installation C-3561
According to Matco catalog:
SPS32 - Plymouth and Dodge cars. 3/4" Drive, 1-29/32" Socket size, 2" long
SPS33 - Dodge pickups and vans and on some later model Chrysler, Plymouth and Dodge cars. 3/4" Drive, 2-5/32" Socket size, 2" long
Now my question is about the other manufacturers that sell the same socket like matco and Snap-on which are the equivalents to miller???

Location: ZH, Switzerland | I got one Snap-on S9479A socket to remove the upper and lower ball joints at my Letter myself. Why myself? My Letter is at Emils and I heard him telling proud that they (Emil and Erçan) pressed the old ball joints out and the new ball joints in at the control arms of Cheyennes (Emils daughter) 300H (under restoration as mine as well, but further in progress as my Letter). Happy Restoring! Dieter BTW: because I was curios about the announcement I used one finger nail and followed the groove at one ball joint I packed out. Yes - it's a thread, I cranked the ball joint about 15 to twenty times until my finger nail reached the other end of the thread. |
