Expert 5K+ Posts: 8443 Location: Perth Australia | Hi All I have been reading the other vent window thread trying to learn off that one, but it seems that the 56ers used rubber in the glass run channel from the looks of it. I am looking at the ones for my dodge (4 dr sedan) and the ones on the plymouth (4drht), and I cant see how the flocking (or whatever its called) comes out. I got my door rubbers ect from andy burbaum and I got them to send me what is supposed to be the channel part for a 4drht in the hope that I can work out how to put it into the dodge, but I cant see how it would go into the 4drht either. I dont have the vent windows out of the dodges doors yet, but the ones for the plymouth are. I didnt want to incroach on the other thread Has anyone fixed these before or are they a case of find the best you can? Cheers Mick

The mohair was glued into the channel first, then the stainless moulding is pushed over the channel and riveted to the divider bar. It is possible to clean out all the old remains and trim a mohair strip to a center widht of 23 mm for a lenght of 365 mm of the total of 770 mm lenght of the strip. I'm doin it now, so I will try to upload some pic's later.

You'll need a rotary cutter for the best result, the green sheet is a selfcuring plastic used for quilting, same as the ruler (special grid keeps the fabric firmly while cutting). The '60 divider channel is covered for the whole lenght with a stainless molding, while the "newer" (62 and up?) has only the half lenght covered by stainless molding. My spare frame and channels are from a '63, I believe. I cut the mohair in a "T" shape for a perfect fit in the channel part covered with the stainless moulding, wider where there is no stainless moulding - that way I can fold it over and glue it to the channel side. I used the Schotch-Weld (very sticky and tready), applied only richly to the channel sides and mounted the mohair with the glue still wet and "open". After adjusting the position perfectly, I added some masonite strips for to press/hold the mohair in position while the glue cured. Board Moderator & Exner Expert 10K+ Posts: 13045 Location: Southern Sweden - Sturkö island | For your knowledge Neil, the mohair strips comes from Gary - there's no place for any "pop-ins" in the 60-64 channels. Well I take that it was a slip of your tongue.... makes me think about a joke; Do you know the equality between speaking in the parliament and eating p***y... one slip of the tongue and your in deep sheet Edited by wizard 2013-02-08 3:58 PM

Posts: 19146 Location: bishop, ca | Well, I suppose that if you were to become happy with your mohair (the opposite of lesshair?) work, it could be said that you would have had Merry Pop-in's ? Expert 5K+ Posts: 8443 Location: Perth Australia | What I ended up doing was use wide velcro (the soft loop side) that has sticky on the back and just pushed it in. It seems to have worked fine, but my car is not in service yet, so I dont know how durable it will be

I got my mohair strips from a guy who was selling this kind of interior material, in Västerås Power Meet swap. He got rolls of it. You perhaps know this company, They got a gatalog.
