Hi Folks; I've been adding my "Two Cents" every now and then on the Forum, so I figured it was time to jump in with both feet! Here's my latest acquisition, she's very straight, very little rust! thank goodness! Heat cooked interior and dashpad and paint, but hey, it wouldn't be a project if it was Cherry! What do ya think? John.

I didn't see any link or pictures in your post.  Were you refering to the small pic that appears as part of your profile?  That looked good but hard to see much detail.

4-door Coronet HT's are rare survivors, due to the heavy, careless usage that most Coronets had to suffer through,
and also because the 4-door HT bodies were a lot more fragile and rust/leakage/rattle prone than the other models.

We'll see if it has the standard, or the optional Custom Coronet interior scheme.

Green is a very pretty interior motif.

Looks like the car is a winner, now (in your custodianship)!

You are posting the pics, now...yep; that there is a Custom Coronet.

You should check up/behind the glove box; the Broadacst Sheet may well still be taped there.

Let's see your car's Paint/Trim data plate.

It looks like the car's body and panel alignments are very good---the windows all align nicely, too.

The trunk may be 'sprung', but does the trunk fully elevate itself, or just hang, at about 1/2-mast position???

Yes, I've heard of the Glovebox location, I will check it out. When I was transporting the Dodge Home , I ran into a resto buff who also said that this was a rare bird! The Seats were literally recovered, as in the covers were placed over the original upholstery! I managed to save the rear seat back, the rest where badly split and cooked! I will post a Pic. The Dodge spent its life in Wyoming and Montana. John

The Trunk latch got broken, I managed to find it, when cleaning out the Dodge. Might be able to weld it, hopefully!

Congratulations, lebaron413 - wonderful new, old car you have there!

That was a real bonus still having the orginal interior under the seat covers!

No cracks in the steering wheel? Nice!

Hey Guys; Thanks for all your input and kind words! I've been more of a 60's Chrysler man, so this is my first "Finned Car". I can't get over the difference in the construction of the Dodge versus the later 60's Chryslers! It was like they were learning how to build them as they went along LOL. But those Body lines are sure to get a guy hooked! John.

That's an L.A. built car, there.

It does NOT show, however, the typical back-less mounting screws on its P/T plate, but, rather the phillips-head mounting screws that were used on the Detroit-built cars.

Yours is one of the few L.A.-built cars, that I've seen, that does not have the back-less mounting screws on the P/T plate.

The P/T plate, does show the typical shadow-image of the strip of masking tape that was laid across the P/T plate, when the car body was painted.

The L.A. cars have very little optional equipment listed on the P/T's, but yours confirms the LT outside mirror option (big deal).

Its Broadcast Sheet and/or IBM Build Cards will confirm the rest of your cars options and OEM equipment data.

It was Scheduled to have been built o.o.a. 11/7/57, which is of relatively early build.

Hey Neil; Thanks for deciphering the Plate! As I've watched the Forum, these cars seem to always have surprises hidden in them. Neat how as the cars surface, we explode another "in stone" theory. John

An L.A.-built car, having the phillips-head mounting screws in it is not typical.

Here's a couple examples of the L.A. P/T plates, with the back-less screws, but also one with the
phillips-head screws.

Note the shadow images of the masking tape on them.

TorqueFlite, padded dash, power steering...power brakes?

The fact that there is no radio (-option) is not unusual for the Northern U.S. or in many parts of CAN, as there were not many
radio stations up there.

Thats a Yes on all three options! I was pleasantly surprised to find it had power steering, that seems quite rare in these cars.

I love the fact my Plaza is radio delete. The 58 Plymouth dash takes on an entirely different look
without a radio.

Since adding a modern sound system is easy to do and easy to hide, I am happy to keep it a radio
delete car as part of the stripper appearance.

Started cleaning up the Dodge today, found an interesting item stuffed in between the Rad & Grill. My guess its some kind of early oil block heater? Heres a Pic.
