Expert Posts: 4034 Location: Connecticut | The Swedish-made 59 Dodge dashpad from autoline is far superior to the one from Just Dashes. It's also significantly less expensive. I bought mine from autoline.se and the embossing is crisp, just as original. Unfortunately, their website is only in Swedish. If you're in Australia, it probably won't help much, but I believe they have a US distributor in California. Ron

Location: St George Queensland Australia | Thanks for the info, The mate's wife is from sweden so that will help! When your into Fwdlk cars in Australia, near all parts you need come from somewhere else. You've got to be patient and committed. I probably should be just "Committed"

Timo Tanskanen in Riverside, CA, was handling the Swede sourced parts. I presume he still does.

Expert 5K+ Posts: 9604 Location: So. Cal | When I first bought my '57 Windsor from out of the Riverside area, I was in desperate need of a windshield. So I stopped by Timo's place 5885 Jurupa Ave. Riverside, CA on a Wednesday at 2 pm. I finally figured out which place was his because there are no numbers on the door and no one there. The door is also blacked out so you can't see into it. Not a soul around and not a car parked near his part of the building. No wonder no one answers the phone. If that is a business, it sure isn't in business. I have pictures I could post of it if anyone cares. A complete waste of my time except that behind the upholstery shop on the other side, there was a '57-'58 DeSoto 2dr ?convertible? (I don't quite remember) waiting for upholstery work.

Extreme Veteran Posts: 496 | Due to the heat in Riverside, Timo typically works in the early morning and evening/night. No surprise that he wasn't there in the mid-afternoon. When I was restoring my 60 Fury, I called and left a message for him and inquired about a windshield for the car. He called back the same day. He had one windshield in stock and offered it to me. I drove the Fury to his shop later that week and he installed it for me. He was professional and careful with both my freshly painted car and the windshield. His shop is amazing and all of the project cars are stored inside. Nothing is left outside to advertise what is going on behind the closed doors. He typically doesn't order windshields from Europe until he has enough orders to make the (expensive) shipping worthwhile. The windshield I received was either one that was ordered and never paid for, or an extra one he ordered to fill the crate. Either way, I was lucky that I was able to get one so quickly. The windshield was perfect... with the correct shade at the top and the shape (with the bubble top) was spot-on as well. If you call and order a windshield it will typically take several months to arrive. He can ship it to you, or will install it to make sure it is done correctly. I'm sure he can get the dash pads too. Expert Posts: 1493 Location: Jamaica Plain, MA | Back to some earlier stuff, I believe the 58 and 59 dodge pads are the same. As for getting the old one off, they have some kind of formaldehyde in the foam that can make a gunky mess. Put something over your carpets and wear gloves. Cut the vinyl off, clear out the foam and gunk, and then you'll see they are tacked under the windshield garnish moldings. On most cars they are tacked under the stainless dash moldings and instrument cluster at the bottom. In some cases they have clips that have studs that can be removed from under the dash. No need to remove the dash unless you're going all out and you want to paint the dash out of the car.

Expert Posts: 2788 Location: USA - KY | Mopark, I bought a dash pad for my '57 DeSoto from "RD Autoline" in Sweden, and it looks FAB. Haven't installed it yet, as the car is still undergoing prep work. I'd suggest that you phone if you are interested in their products, minding the time zones. For me, that proved to be the most expedient method of contacting the company. When I phoned I reached the company's Voicemail and the message was in Swedish, but I just went ahead and said what I had to say in English, knowing that the majority of the amazing Swedes are proficient in English. I soon received a message on this site and the next thing you know, my dash pad arrived at my home. I've heard from several folks here on this site who have bought these dash pads and they really liked them, and they said that they fit like a glove, and were very easy to install. The "grain" of the dash pad that I got is spot on! The fellow whom I contacted was "Tony", and he is also a member here on the FL site: "swedemopar". Exner Expert 19,174 posts. Neil passed away 18 Sep 2015. You will be missed, Neil! Posts: 19146 Location: bishop, ca | The matter of the grooving in the 59 dashes does not exist in the 57-58 Mopars. Just Dashes has an exemplary record in producing a quality 57-58 dash pad (not getting into the 59-quality discussion). I would suggest getting price and delivery quotations from both places, before deciding on a 57-58 dash pad purchase. You might, even, be able to do a bit of price negotiation with them, if they know of your interest in possibly buying from the other company. Also, the 57-58 (and probably the other years') dashes are merely physically held onto the dash top, by the various trim pieces. The dash top vents have (hidden) screw bolts that are accessed from their upper-middle areas. Edited by d500neil 2013-09-01 4:43 PM

Extreme Veteran Posts: 496 | 60Dodge/DeSoto pad is held on with a curved piece of metal embedded in the pad (with clips) to hold it on the windshield side, and a piece of trim above the glove box door. Aaron
