Stumbled upon this site. Has a few Forwardlooks in it.

My son and I may be going to French Lake in the next 2-3 weeks, depending on weather. If we do go, I am willing to take photos If you are interested in one of their cars.

If anyone is interested, there are two 1962 Chrysler 4 dr hardtop wangons at French Lake. Accordig to the people in the office they are factory air. They are separated from the main lot by a fence. I got the impression that these are in running shape and belong to a guy who has them there on consignment. It was raining heavily and no one asked for photos, so I left my camera in the car.

French Lake is where I scored Horrie's 55 Windsor IAZ 4001E distributor, and, at a reasonable
price.

There seemed to be a few forwardlooks that could be decent parts cars.

Visited F.L.A.P. this year while attending the NDC/WPC Club Conventions last summer.

The place is huge! Acres and acres of cars to see. On the whole, they did have the cars sorted by make, and they had what you could loosely call a FL section way at the back, to the right, behind the crusher yard. In July they seemed to have more '59's to '61's, from what I can recall.

They also had large buildings on their land, where they had parts sorted by type: glass, doors, bumpers, etc.. I don't think that the general public was allowed inside of the buildings, but they had an office with what seemed to be enough staff to hopefully help folks find what they needed.

It seemed that most cars were sold in their entirety, but as we explored the grounds, we met up with some folks working away, who had been allowed to pull parts off of some of the cars by themselves, so who knows?

Wish I could find my photos.

Take your tools with ya, and have fun!

I sure do wish that there were more junkyards here in Louisiana. No "old car" junkyards at all.I guess its not worth keeping something that will be just a roof in 10 years.
