Extreme Veteran Posts: 504 Location: southern Oklahoma | is there a reliable source for full size '61 Plymouth brake shoes? when we purchased the car a few years ago the seller said he had a bear of a time finding new shoes and actually included a wore out set for possible relining. google suggests that they are much more common now than they were a few years back. I figured if anyone would know ya'll would - thanks!

I've got a pair of his shoes/linings for the Emergency/parking brake---not yet installed, Craig.

Expert 5K+ Posts: 8443 Location: Perth Australia | There have been lots of discussions about this problem, anything from bad drums, bad lines to bad brake return springs Apart from the lines, you could try swaping the springs from side to side, you can with the drums as well, but you wheel studs will be around the wrong way, but good to test to see if you can move the fault to the other side and work out which part/parts are the problem You said lines, not linings, if you linings got contaminated, that will most likely be the problem You can burn them to try to get it out, but better to get new ones
