Expert Posts: 3480 Location: Montreal, Canada | Not many pics, and they are not of very good quality, but judging from what we can see here, this looks like a super nice car for the asking price! A little love and it would be a great looking car! Funny to see those 1958 spring special items on it. I wonder if they could have been added on there in '58?... The OEM headliner in a 57-59 Dodge is a major item of interest to a restorer, and a real selling point, for an informed seller. Posts: 19146 Location: bishop, ca | But, on the slightly down-side, this ride is missing its easy-to-lose VIN plate (pops right off), and its brake pedal has been replaced(!) The car has obviously been re-painted, amateurishly, and the lighter-blue should be applied on all of the door hinge pillar (if its present color scheme is correct). Upholstery obviously replaced, but, the door panels look like they may be OK... From a 57 Belvedere, with the exact same endless loop pattern. Iwould gladly trade it for the headliner cardboard side panels for my car, if anyone wants it!

Posts: 19146 Location: bishop, ca | 58 Spring-Special trim on fins and deck lid (sell them to help finance the restoration), but, for $6.5K, this car looks to be an excellent deal, for some competent restorer. David, you should post up some good views of your headliner, on the Parts-4-Sale board!! Don't think that the W/S is cracked, but the seller could be asked that direct question. Depending upon exactly how much money you can come up with, this car would have a lot going for it. Also, Royal 2-door hardtop is a rare model, because most 57's were either Coronets or Custom Royals. The Royals have very attractive interiors, and this car has an intact headliner area. Also, the hood fits extremely well to the fenders, which indicates that its body structure may have been very 'squarely' built. Elite Veteran Posts: 1115 Location: CA | Yeah except this car has 3 antennas, one in front and duals in the rear. I wouldn't be surprised if this one got smacked and rebuilt at some point.

Posts: 19146 Location: bishop, ca | ...Saw that; what's mo-unusual is that the front antenna is mounted on the driver's fender; M/T tested a loaded D500 CR sedan, and it had its fender antenna mounted on the driver's fender. The B.-sheet and IBM will confirm whether this car was built without an antenna (dealer-installed, later, on the 'wrong' fender)...but, you gotta believe that the fender antenna preceded the installation of the two rear antennae.
