Location: Southern Sweden - Sturkö island		Just preparing the car for another ROADTRIP - that's what it's all about - enjoying the comfort and greatness of a vintage car through beautiful landscapes in various weather.

We start out Friday morning for a 460 miles travel towards the "Mecca" of classic cars, Rättvik for this years Classic Car Week.

I hope to see some of "our" guys up there, in town or in Orsa at the "Mopars at the strip" event.

So, who's coming up????

wizard, not quite sure how the classic lady contest works. Are these ladies dressing to fit the ages of the cars or some just dressing up?


Well, hypothetically, the ladies are supposed to dress period correctly to the car they have (as seen above, it's not always so ) - then they drive a "rally" with several stations where there are maneuverability tests and quiz and fun games. The scored points are summarized and added to the judges points for period correct dresses. Bear in mind that the highest scores comes from ladies that also dress in period correct clothing for the actual age of the woman - a 50 year old lady did not (normally) wear bobby socks and dotted dresses.

See the high class ladies with the vanilla and red Caddy 49 - that's a really high score.

Location: Southern Sweden - Sturkö island		The travel home was a joyride, all the impressions rushing in; the low steady grumble of the V8; big wheels grinding the blacktop road; the smells of summer oozing in through the hardtop; the spruces and pines blurring together until they looked like a picket fence; lakes, hills and valleys all beautiful and surrounded by green woods.
There's really nothing like it, to be relaxed in the drivers seat and just drive and drive as the odometer clicks up towards a distant goal. ROADTRIP, that's what it's all about!

Here are some more pictures from this year's best holiday week in Rättvik.
The weather was perfect and many nice cars were present. But this year, the number of cars was less than usual.

Also hope that the organizer removes a portion of all barriers to make it easier to drive and park.

A week here is still recommended for all car buffs!

I agree with finsruskw, that late model stuff is happening here as well and I don`t get it.

We see a lot more cars arriving on trailers as well, which is another thing I don`t understand.
