On the 58 New Yorker wagon the switch is located 26 inches from the left side of the dash to the center of the switch. I seem to recall that the Plymouth is in the same location. The N/Y'er sedan also has the holes in the dash, but the dash is the same for the wagon and sedan. Hope this helps.

Hi
Thankyou for your reply but I don't think 26 inches is right, that would put the switch in the area of the clock adjuster , from what I do know it should be under the pushbutton box....but where exactly is the question and does the lever point inward or outward or up or down as the switch operating stem has a flat on it, along with that the body of the switch is over 2" in diameter so it just can't go anywhere it needs lots of room. I wish I could have seen the car this setup came from ...I bought this at a swap meet and the guy just knew it was from a '58 ...

If we can find the guy that used to own this one, He may know:
I will check my station wagon brochure and see if there is a pic.

Someone correct me if I'm mistaken, but isn't this "lever" on the dashboard the rear power window switch?

Yes, this was a '58 Custom Suburban with a V8, power everything, a/c - and a stick.

Hi
Yes, that's exactly it ! Was this car yours? , since You refer to it in the past tense ... has it moved on or been destroyed?... What a neat car ... 3 on the tree and overdrive along with the other stuff made this a unique Wagon! Thanks for posting this picture...

Yes, same location as the convt top switch, and same knob and switch as well.

The wagon above was in TX, not sure if it's still there, a member on here was going to buy the A/C radiator from it. But after removal someone took it and it disappeared, probably scrapped.

The car was (is?) at Browne & Sons Auto Salvage in north TX. I bought the pedal assembly from it. Someone had already swiped the power rear window parts and butchered the tailgate pretty badly in the process. I have these other pictures as well.

If you're interested in parts, here is their contact info.

Hi!
First off, thank you for posting the pics and the info as your interior shot gives me enough to place my switch ....all in all I'd have to say I'm in good shape for parts with the upholstery being the next hurtle. I'd have to repeat what I said about this being a neat car as I see it is a 9 pass unit as well ...but I guess we can't save them all ... ( I recall one of the other members of this forum was looking for a spare tire panel for a 9 pass I hope he catches this post as I can't recall who he was) ...anyway Texas is a bit of a haul for me as I'm in Canada but that whole yard looks pretty cool... very little left up here or at least I can't find it...
I hope that Sport Suburban that mstrug posted ends up getting a paint job (Thanks for posting etc. ) These wagons look great with the full sport tone etc.
So...back at 'er
We'll talk again I hope!
