After much searching, I'm quite certain there are no aftermarket suppliers for the gold anodized aluminum side trim on a '56 Fury. The pattern is available, but the widest piece they can make is only 7.5", while the widest OEM part measures about 11". To make it wider, the manufacturer would have to order a new, wide roller for their embossing machine, and the roller price is about $200,000, so we didn't discuss that option very long!

They do have wider pieces in other fine patterns that are "sorta" like stock, and I'm getting price quotes for a couple of them. My car won't be a real Fury, so I don't have to be too concerned about a perfect match. Does anyone else have an interest in material with a non-stock pattern?

FWIW, they were able to supply a match for the interior pattern used on the '56 dash trim, so I'm ordering enough to use on the custom console and TorqueFlite pushbutton plate. I should have some extra, if anyone is interested.

Hi Gary: What is the pattern of 1956 Fury Inserts? I may know some one who has material. There should be someone on this site who has some used trim. Marc.

I have some used trim that is fairly straight and undamaged, but time has taken its toll and it just doesn't clean up very well. There is one ad in the Golden Fin Society newsletter that offers the material, but it is too narrow for the main piece, and also not long enough.

Here's the pattern.

GaryS - 2014-07-31 8:19 PM After much searching, I'm quite certain there are no aftermarket suppliers for the gold anodized aluminum side trim on a '56 Fury.

I think you are right as I have been looking for the same thing for the same reasons, but I did find one partial 1956 NOS insert set,…. that is too pricy for me….and no stainless trim. See link.

I did find nice side trim with repo gold inserts that would look good but also with no stainless for 1958 (only) Ford Fairlane 500 still a bit costly but half of the Fury NOS ones and where to get the stainless trim? Found a parts car for a thousand, expensive trim, huh? If you could find the trim the 57 (I think) Desoto had a nice painted insert and also the 53 Buick (used on many custom mercs).

After doing a search on this site there was a mention of Mylar inserts. Keep me posted please. Thanks.
