I'm finally getting caught up to posting about the other wagon: a black 57 Desoto that was built for my daughter by my boyfriend. If you haven't read about the pink 59 that he built for his, feel free to catch up here: http://forwardlook.net/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=53829&post...

This wagon was built last year prior to the AACA event in Hershey, Pa. We chose a pair of 57 Desoto fins that remained from a vehicle parted some time ago, and these rusty quarters were about all that remained of it. It was great to give them some new life.

I don't have many in-depth build pictures as the other wagon (this one was a 48 hour turn and burn to make it for Hershey), except for the interior which I built from misc scrap interior door panels and turquoise glitter vinyl. This was my first try at "interior work", so don't judge too harshly!

As of now, the lights are wired in the back, but unfinished. They do not flash at the moment like the pink one does. Another project for the future along with a better handle and different wheels/tires. This thing was a bear to pull around on the stock radio flyer wheels-- I nearly had heat exhaustion pulling it uphill one hot afternoon at Carlisle. Hopefully it will gain some of the creature comforts to make pulling it as cool as it looks.

Hi Jessica:

Fanstastic pics! I heard that a couple of Mopar magazines got some photos of the girls in the wagons. Do you know if the photos have been published in the magazines yet?

Very very cool! I happen to know where a pr of 58 fins are on a car that's been totally gutted... and a 2 yr old a grandson who loves cars... hmmmmmm.

Jessica...back in NY from S PA? You should check out Jeff Nichols '59s sometimes if you're near by, great source of parts & info.

Hey Gord! Yes, a couple photographers stopped us and took photos of the wagons for an article in a magazine. I can't remember which ones. They were supposed to contact Jeff for commentary regarding the articles, but I don't think we have heard from them. They might just publish the photos. Who knows.

Roger, see my message to you. Sorry i was late in responding. It's much more difficult to type things out on the phone (where I do about 90% of my online activity now days) as opposed to on the laptop. lol

As for Claire's wagon, she's got some new fins in the works for the Hershey show this year. We just picked out a set of 57 Plymouth fins for her this weekend, and she's excited for Jeff to get started on the build.
