Subject: upper control arm bushings 57 plymouth

anyone know a good way to change the upper control arm bushings in a 57 Plymouth? I don't have anything to press the bushing out......any tricks out there?

I picked up a 20 ton press at Harbor Freight for $149 on sale. Use old sockets or steel tubing scraps.

All you need is a Good Bench Vice and a couple Old Sockets , They push Out and New ones In real Easy..

also, Im having trouble getting the ball joint off.....Ive never replaced one of these. I restored the car ten years ago, at the time all the suspension was still good, now finally all the rubber is going bad.

Ball joints require a special socket, if all that's bad is the rubber boot you might find a replacement at places like Energy Suspension.

Here's some of the Snap on sockets for sale on Evilbay for removing the ball joints.

Don't buy the cheaper versions of these ( I'm told ) as they aren't up for the job.

I bought one of these for my Dodge though it was a Snap on S9365A ( the "A " at the end denotes the socket is chromed and not black finish as the S9365B )

Hey Guys, I got this socket from my brother, who is a Matco tool dealer. I don't remember at the moment what I paid for it but thought it was reasonable. If anyone is interested let me know, I will check out the price and he can ship it to you. Jerry
