Wanted 57 New Yorker hood emblem. I believe the one shown in the photo (currently on my new yorker) is from a Windsor. The New Yorker emblem should have the standing lion. Interested to buy the correct one or swap the one shown. Thanks

I do have one in stock, but I seem to remember that maybe the background on this one is the wrong colour?

Thanks for posting the photos George, I believe that you are correct about the background, from what I've seen the shield background should be white.

Here's a photo of a 56 New Yorker Wheel Cover, looks the same as the hood emblem, but has a black shield. Can somebody please post a photo of a 57 New Yorker Hood Emblem?

I am sure the Black is correct ( yes same emblem as 56 but lion is gold for 57 ) It is the background colour I was refering to, I have an idea it is supposed to be a Bronze/Gold so if anyone has a picture of an original that would be good.

George, here's a photo that shows a white background with a black shield, I found a few more that match but no close-ups. Looks like yours is a match?

Here's another one that claims to be a low mileage original new yorker. Different paint scheme, but maybe this is the original.

Did you ever get your New Yorker emblem? I am interested in your Windsor emblem to put on my Windsor if you want to get rid of it. I am pretty sure that the last photo that you posted is the correct '57 New Yorker hood emblem, except that the outer color has faded on it quite a bit.

Hi, I have got both C and lion hood emblems and trunk lid emblems. I have understood that there were three hood alternatives 1957;lion mostly NY ; C mostly Saratoga
and a third which I can`t describe. As I have understood it they are all three ok on any chrysler 57. The background on the hood emblems is silvery not white
and the lion is in black, gold and red. I have no verification on this.
All emblems I have cost 60 usd each . They are new but aftermarket about 20 years old and not as beautiful as Lauries but still nice.
Maybe not for the ultimate show winner but absolutely good enough on most cars.

I guarantee that the shipping happens a couple of days after (paypal ) payment.

C emblem was the one for Windsor. Saratogas had a black shield with some square items on it (see attached pic). New Yorkers had lion on a black shield. These emblems appear also in some of the sales literature respectively to these model series so originally I guess they have not been mixed between series.

The circle background has been white-ish when new but usually it has aged to more grey over the years.

Actually, the New Yorker hood emblem has the lion on a gold background as in the picture above. The lion on a black background is original to the '56 New Yorker hubcap emblems and are far more common/easy to find in good shape.

Hey sorry for the long delay to reply, I get busy with other parts of life and my car sits and waits for attention. I bought a 56 NY wheel cover with the lion insert in very good condition. I haven’t put it on the car yet because I need to repaint the hood and rechrome the emblem bezel first. Thanks for your replies.
