Don't think so, they would have been what ever came out in the Canadian models I'd guess ?.

" Pearlcraft " is a company down here that restores steering wheels

Notice the box of tissues on the floor? That is for when females travel in the car. That gooey stuff can stain the leather you know.

Chuck, to the best of my knowledge, all of our phoenix's got the same steering wheel as the US ones did

Funny thing is, I have seen ones with manual steering still have power steering in the horn button bit

The power steering we got is power assist, not a power steering in the actual steering box

I think a lot of the power assist systems have since died, mine had it, but the drag link and the ram have gone and I cant find another

Anybody notice the right rear quarter panel has a chrome gas filler door? What's that all about?

I asked the seller about that, but I have had no reply

I think the car may have had (or has) LPG fitted and if someone cut a hole in my 1/4 panel like that, I would want to do the same to them

The filler mount has pulled the panel in a bit, basically denting it

It was probably the owners request that the filler went there though, as the alternative (that I would have chosen) is under the bumper

Mick,

I have a feeling ?? ........ that someone said to me a while back that the early Holden , maybe HR/HK/HT/HG ?? - ish Power Steering ram setups were the same or very similar to the ones used on our Dodges that came here but that being said, if correct, you'll pay a pretty penny's worth if/when you find one of them.

I'll have to look into that Terry, cheers

I saw this car today (had 3 60 phoenix's at my place and I didnt take pictures )

It has sold to a nice bloke and his wife

We had a good chat about them and I answered a lot of questions he had about his and fixed him up with a couple of missing peices.

I was correct about the fuel door, it did have lpg, but it has since been removed.

His plans are to slowly restore the car (there are a few rust issues, but nowhere near as bad as what I started with)

I did confirm with his car that the paint code on mine does indicate a factory black car, so mine is wrong (as I suspected), but as it would have been anyway

The pearled steering wheel looks very nice, but I prefer the "sparkle" of the original wheel (must get around to making the mold for it)

In this part of the world, having 3 together in one place would probably never happen

I know of 5 now in Perth, be cool to get them all together, but I dont know where one of them is for sure

Actually, be cool to try and get a gathering of FL cars going this summer (see if I get mine on the road)

Regarding the fitting of the LPG filler cover...

LPG installers are notoriously rough 'tradesmen' and like to do things their way. Hence many cars come from their shops with installations below standard and finished in a manner contrary to the owners' desires.

Mine had a control wire dangling around bolts in the rear suspension...
