I am converting my 55 to disk with a new booster and master cylinder.

What distribution block did you use to split the disk output into two lines and accommodate the brake sensor?

The appropriate proportioning valve is the right way to do this.

Most any proportioning valve from a disc/drum brake car will work. I used one from a chrysler E body car on mine - it works fine.

What are you using to convert to discs, the '55 Chryslers seem to be odd man out.

AAJ Brakes seems to have the most comprehensive kits for Forward Look cars http://aajbrakes.com/ I've done 2 cars with his kits, a 60 and a 62 Chrysler.

He has "business 4 sale" ads posted on this site. Might try Rusty Hope and/or Scare bird. both Google.

I spoke with Roger about a month ago, he was trying to sell off the non mopar side of the business at one point but he said he just acquired a lathe to keep the business going. I just got a rear kit from him 2 weeks ago.

Yes I have been working with Roger too. He is very supportive and his kit will work with the 55. I am in the middle of the break down at the moment. Amazing how easy this car comes apart... I had to get a lower control arm kit from Burnbaum... will arrive next week some time.. then I can get back to it. I ended up getting a willwood distribution block. It's a very neat and clean fit with the booster / Master Cylinder I have. I will post some pictures soon.

On my '60 Plym I swapped in disc spindles, not an option on '55s, but easy on the newer models.

I had a couple of minor issues with the AAJ kit, but was just glad to have a source for the conversion. The part quality is excellent and everything was furnished. I don't know about the distribution block model, and it's not installed yet, but I'm going to rely on the one provided in the kit.

I have a couple entries in my blog about the brake installations, and here is one post, and there are earlier enties...FWIW. (Purists and finicky restorers; save yourself a case of ulcers and don't bother visiting the site!)

oh.. and it turns out that my lower bushing wasn't bad after all. It had 'normal' play as the new one was exactly the same. Well I now have some spare and rare parts for my 55... who knows.. maybe my daughter will need them in another 60 years.
