Looking for feedback on good sources for weatherstrip for a 58 Plymouth, namely doors
and trunk, but pretty much any feedback for all soft parts is sought.

We had this discussion before I came back from AFG, but much water has passed under
the bridge, it would probably be best to start fresh again. At the time, Gary Goers was out
of commission and I seem to recall a tip that late 60's Olds Cutlass trunk weatherstrip had
the same profile and current reproduction stock has a very proper stiffness. I was looking
into that when I had to shut the project down and was unable to confirm.

It is time to get back in the game and get the Plaza on track to finish.

I had heard from Ronbo that 68-72 Olds Cutlass trunk weatherstripping does have the right profile and has the proper stiffness. He also told me 58 Chevy for the doors, but I believe he had heard that and not tried it. He'll probably chime in here.

Doc,

Here's a couple of pictures of the latest offering from Gary - it's pretty good looking and makes a tight seal.

The 60-62 weatherstrip shown above won't fit on the trunk of the 57-59 models, it's a completely different profile. Gary has the correct stuff.

Gary's catalog can be downloaded here. http://www.chryslerclub.org/PDF%20files/GOERS.pdf Brent, you're only about 4 hours from Gary - make a day trip out of it and see him in person!

I bought mine from Clester's. It was super duper cheap, it fits perfectly, and it is the right shape. I think I got all four doors and the trunk for what the trunk was selling for elsewhere, but this was back in 2000 or so.

I don't know. I've mentioned them nearly every time someone asks about weatherstripping here.
