Subject: dash mirror removal - 60 dodge

Can I unscrew the big round nut at the bottom of the dash mirror stalk to remove the dash mirror without anything falling off inside the dash?

Actually need to get under the dash and unscrew the big nut holding it to the dash. There is a rectangular washer that will fall once the nut is undone.
