It's working fine for me. Try shutting your computer off.

all of my browsers (GreenBrowser 6.7.1103, QupZilla 1.8.5, Pale Moon 25.1.0, and Opera 12.17) [Win7 and WinXP] are behaving as they always have for google and previous page
i won't touch firefox or aol if you paid me too

not sure if that's any "help", only that there's no difference 'here', for what it's worth

After doing a search on Google, hold the CTRL-key while you click on a link.
The link will open in a new tab or window.
After you're done on that page, just close that tab/window and the Google searchresults are still present on the other tab/window.

for firefox-engine browsers such as pale moon and for chrome-engine browsers such as qupzilla and chromium and the "new" Opera --

shift + link-click == open the link in a new browser, close that browser and your google search browser will still be open
ctrl + link-click == open the link in a BACKGROUND tab, you still have to mouse over to the newly opened tab

ctrl + shift + link-click == open the link in a new tab and automatically go to that new tab, close the tab when done and your google search tab will still be open

mileage will vary for IE-related browsers, don't use 'em enough to know, i think IE11 will do the same as above but IE8 [WinXP] will not

Just curious...why do you use these obscure browsers ? Are there features that you can't get in FF or Chrome ?

they're far from "obscure" in my world, the world of GEEKS

let me ask it this way, do you "trust" Microsoft? do you think that Microsoft is "big brother" watching over every move?
in "my world", us geeks don't "trust" Microsoft...

by the same EXACT token, we don't "trust" GOOGLE either...

Google doesn't "make" a web browser, they use open-source CHROMIUM and *ADD* "features" to it, then call it "Chrome", and then advertise it left and right
"features" *ARE* added 'under the hood' that enables Google to track EVERYTHING you do on the web
search-engine around and do some searching, here's ONE example - http://betanews.com/2012/03/01/you-can-trust-google-to-spy-on-you/
yeah, that one is dated 2012, you'll find HUNDREDS that say the same thing, i just didn't want to spend the time tracking them down here

while you're out searching around, track down which web browsers are MOST VULNERABLE to virus attacks
the MOST VULNERABLE, based on a February 2014 study, "facts don't lie", ignore all of the MYTHS and PROPAGANDA, "just the facts, ma'am" - FIREFOX... followed by CHROME...
http://secunia.com/vulnerability-review/browser_security.html

Pale Moon is a "stripped down" version of Firefox, the two are the same (and suffer the same vulnerabilities to viruses!), it's just the "new" Firefox engine using the "old" user interface

QupZilla is a "stripped down" version of Chromium (which Chrome is based off of)
QupZilla and Chromium don't have the "google MALWARE" built into the source code

GreenBrowser is a "shell" to Internet Explorer
by running a "shell", my firewall blocks *ALL* access to the outside world for Internet Explorer
the "shell" is more secure because trojans, viruses, and malware can't "piggyback" on the Internet Explorer 'executable'

technically, ALL browsers that access the internet leave you open to "catching bugs"
the SAFEST solution - *DISABLE JAVASCRIPT*, but alas, many web sites just don't work "at all" without the javascript CRAP, so i use a web filter that will allow SOME javascript on SOME sites

hey, "you asked", lol
